Air powered land mine based on the home made paintball airmine. www.paintballzone.com/airmine.htmI am adjusting the main barrel to take wadding and a butt-load of BBs. I am also working on a duckbill attachment for it as well to better sleet the BBs out. Of course, this would preclude the use of wadding, so I am still trying to figure out the best way to keep the BBs in there. I am also working on a 12 bareled version using very narrow PVC tubing or stainless tubing from work to hold the BBs directly so I don't have to use a sabot or any type of wadding. Just a huge cluster of stainless tubes stuck in one large PVC tube. FIre them all at once. I'll let ya'll know how it works out. We are also beginning to design air powered M203 launchers. Using the same princible, but far far cheaper than the mighty Sun Project.

At rustyspaintballgear.tripod.com/rpgcustomitems/id12.html you can buy an m72 body to put a spud gun inside. Unfortunetly he doesn't say how big the body's diameter is on the website for the gun and he hasn't responded to my e-mails. EDIT: I tryed e-mailing him again and I got a response. At the time I e-mailed him I was having some e-mail problems so he probably never got my message. He responded to my latest e-mail and told me that you only have 2 inches inside to build. Looks like anyone trying to do what I am will be stuck with a gun made from plumbing supplies.

Thanks for the tip Dice, I will definately check it out and see what is up.
We make tubing at work and some of the tube is about 40mm, stainless steel. This should work nicely except the wall thickness is a bit thin. I can beef it up though, not a problem.
I'm going to get started on the Alpha model of the land mine this weekend and see how it works.

OOh!...landmine?
I hope your project works out, this sounds very very interesting. I just wonder how well it'll work on the field.

*me pictures Newman examining the firing mechanism before a game, and accidentally blowing a cloud of BBs into his face* ;D

Evil, evil.... ...and yet extremely correct! ;D I haven't broken anybody's gear, though, Ballista, and I'm not the one who...cough...Viking...dropped an entire bag of bb's on the ground. Hehheehe.

I'm not sure how it will work in a game either, but as for people walking around it. That's only if they see it. Because the mine fires horizontally like a claymore, you would have to place it carefully in some underbrush or something with a tripwire attached to it. Then again, you could use the doorbell modification that acts like a trigger and set it off manually when the enemy is in the kill cone of the mine.
