I know that .12's are only supposed to be used in weaker airsoft guns(springer pistols and such),and that .20's can be used in pretty much any airsoft gun,but what about BB's rated at .25,.29,.43 and such? What are they for?Or is it all just based on personal preferance?

upgraded guns, snipers, and personnal preference.
they are made to go straighter but they won't go as far.

On the contrary, some heavier bb's go a lot farther when used in upgraded guns.
Sometimes when I use .25s in my 360 fps M4, the gun shoots farther than when I use .20s.

Heavier BBs are usually used for upgraded guns, as has already been stated. They tend to give you more accuracy at farther distances, compared to .20s. I've found .20, .23, and .25 to all work very well in stock guns, and even in my upgraded (140% spring) AUG, .20s work just great.
Newman, I have nothing else to say... I love your gun and its magical ways....there's always something new to love about it. ;D

Yeah, .25s fire about 1/2 as far as .20s in the Ithaca, and the accuracy varies from:
"It's coming towards me! Duck!"
to
"A bb is flying near me, I must notice"
to
"Oh my gosh. I think that bb just missed me by a mile"
to
"I have nothing else to say WTF RTFM Yay!! I OWN j00 that Ithaca sux0rz!"
Ya know, ya know. ;D
