hey whats up, yeah i believe there are some guys in that area for you to play with. I also used to play paintball and i hated it because it wasnt realistic. We all (mostly anyways) try to use AEGs. They are electric powered but hey are really cool. It costs about as much as paintball depending what yooure going for. I would always suggest buying a gun! I wouldnt suggest wasting time/ money with spring guns or electric pistols. THE only guns i would suggest, THE SPRING BENELLI SHOTGUNS by Tokyo Marui ANY AEG REALLY TO GET STARTED> and any gas powered pistol or sub achine gun. I would really suggest saving I'm too lazy to spell a full word out. Please mock me. money and starting out big!!

I'm pretty much the only guy on the forums acctually from ann arbor. I'm a part of FLAG, as Sting posted. Like he said, we play out of saline. If you ever want to go to one of our games, head on over to our forums and ask. pretty much anybody can come. If you ever want to get together with just me sometime to check out my guns or something, email me, my adress is in my profile. As for your choice, i hope you're not talking about any shotty under 100-150. they are made by either a korean or chinese company and basically not worth buying. You'll want either an AEG or a gbb. if you decie to go with an AEG, you'll need around 350 to get a decent setu. if you go with a GBB, then you'll need 150-200 to get a skirmish vialbe set up. If you haven't yet, read DumboRat's Newbie FAQ;http://www.airsoftohio.com/phpBB/newbie.php It will answer pretty much all of your questions as well as a few you didn't know you had. BTW, how old are you? j/w Welcome to MiA

ok another question, I am over the age of 18, if i am playing the game and a minor gets hurt could someone sue me over it? should I stick to playing with people over 18? or am i over-reacting?
is there an officail airsoft field somewhere near me that has insurance?

there aren't official airsoft fields. People play on their own private property, or private property of their friends or neighboors. or constructions sites, but that was a whole different story.
We can't sue you unless you're at fault, like say, if you hit one of us for some reason. But if in the middle of a game someone trips over a tree root, they can't sue you...that is if you didn't push them or something.

so what happens if someone is not wearing the correct eye protection and gets injured, the person who shot them is liable?

That's the problem right there...those things are shredded up in court. One typo and BAM it's gone. Just looking at Viking's...makes me cry. Also, since all of FLAG is under 18, how could we ever have release of liability? All it is, is *parent's permission*...that is our release of liability. I am going to talk to a lawyer friend from my church, but I'm not sure what to ask her. How would anybody be liable for anything if they didn't do it? *shrugs* Broknone-if you're really worried, even after the lawyer friend explains to me that it's all ok, I'll write up a parent's approval slip that everyone will have to have signed. I think that would make sense, however much legally so.

You have no release of liability, even if you get your parents to sign it. Owning replica firearms (airsoft) as we all know isnt permissible for those under 18, therefore, liablity waivers wouldnt protect you.
Think of this....say you and you're friends are having a party, all of you are under age, and there is alcohol being consumed. Say somebody dies from alcohol poisoning, not only the person that supplied the alcohol is negligent, but everybody there that was underage was as well.
If you're already breaking the law...no waiver or parental permission will protect you.
