im not sure if this is the correct place for this but i figured i had a 50/50 chance between here and commerce
as some of you probbly know i am selling my MP5a4. i reccent had somone make an offer from airsoftclassifieds. while the offer is for the requested ammount (130$) for some reason they want to send me a money order for $4000 dollars, cash the money order, deduct my 130 and then send the remainder back to them via western union. sounded alittle fishy and was wondering your guys opinon

This is a scam. What will happen is that their money order will bounce, but not until after you've sent them a money order (To Europe or further, mind you). They've been trolling the airsoft classifieds looking for suckers.
Just remember, if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

If it's from the states, take the offer, but cheerfully tell them they'll have to wait 90 days before you send the change.

If you have a money order printer, like a cash register, like they have in convinience stores, and some stolen blank m.o.'s you can print off as many as you like. Just like writing a non-sufficient funds check. This sounds like the con, i found 10000.00 in a bag on the side of the road. I'll put it in a safety deposit box, and you send me 100.00 so i know i can trust you and we'll split it if no one claims it.
ooorrrr, they're laundering drug money.....

I got a $4000 USPS money order and it was bad. The post master, Detroit FBI and local police got involved. turned out there was nothing they could do but it was pretty exciting being a consult with the FBI. On the other hand, I'm now in their database for SURE. I never should have checked out Mein Kompf from the library . . . . .
