first off i have an announcement. THE RAT PACK lost a silver sony digital camera if anyone has any information it would be very appreciated there is a reward for the return of the camera.
other than that we all here had a fantabulous time at the event it offered just about every type of field play imaginable, the 8 hour drive out there was well worth it and we will definately be attending the next one.
thanx, Ray Wackerle (HAWKEYE)

That was a very fun event. Big turnout. A lot of good action.
Field was very cool. Nice mixture of terrains to fight in. Trenches and bunkers were quite awesome. Castle was an impressive bit of work.
Organization was a bit chaotic, but that's the norm for games with that large of a turnout from my experience.
Instant respawn was nice for getting back in play quick, but it also made assaulting the castle completely impossible (as everyone figured out). After having discussed that issue with my teammates a number of potential solutions could be used. A couple we came up with- 1) Put the respawn point behind the castle were it could potentially be captured by some creative flanking manuevers 2) Eliminate respawns altogether for that particular scenario and stack the numbers in favor of the attackers 3) Start both teams outside the castle at approximately equal distances away from it
Irregardless, I had a good time and appreciate all the efforts that went into putting on the event. Special thanks to the event organizers, field owners, and the sponsors. Bill from 21CA gets a special mention from me too. He donated a lot of quality items to the raffle. In addition he spent much of his time working in the "mobile armory" to keep people's equipment functioning when he could have been out on the field playing.
Hope to see all you gents next year!

Meh. Amazing to me how many people don't take their eye protection worth a damn....
3/4 of the people in the pictures are wearing shooters glasses.
Some are just wearing sunglasses.
Jesus...Stupid stupid stupid.

If they don't care about their eye protection thats on them, and it shows how little they care about their own health. But as we all know, when one hits your eye, every one with goggles will tell you i told you so.
But whats the story with the guy wearing the black suit?(dress suit, not camo suit)

Eye protection that we in WI clear as ok is not some thing I'm willing to argue about here. If your interested in discussing it more pm me. Everything you see in the pictures has been oked by us. The sunglasses you see are the oakley modesl that are Z87.1 rated.
The deal with the guy in the suit (there were accually two of them) was that there was a scenario with a mob boss. Those two portrayed his guard.

After being at the event and seeing what went on, this event was one of the best ran and oganized of any events that I have ever been to. We had about every player stop by the mobile store and they all seemed to have proper eye protection from what we could see. I only wish many of the major teams in Michigan could put an event on of this magnatude. These guys, the field, and players were all top notch guys. The majority of the players actually had sealed eye protection from what we saw.

Thanks Bill.
Maybe some clarification is in order. Anyone under 18 is REQUIRED to wear full seal. So in that aspect all minors at the event an that play in WI have and use full seal. The standards that we use have not been pulled outa someones can. They are the result of group testing and play testing. There is a committe in the WAA which is specifically dedicated to that aspect. In the issue with the goggles. Those under 18 have no choice. Those that are older than 18 do. If the adults feel that the risk is acceptable than that is up to them. Keep this in mind though. If you use paintball goggles they are not ansi rated. We have a Z87.1 certification that is required for shooting and safety glasses. So in that aspect the glasses are safer. It a horse apiece really. One other thing is that there is a father son tandem that play on our team. On numorous occasions the father has lobbied to get the full seal for minors removed. He feels that when his son cannot see it is more of a danger than the slight chance of a bb going through the gaps of glasses. Like I said If you guys wanna discuss it more I'll be waiting for pms.
