I'm new to airsoft. I've only messed around with the spring pistols. I've held the new TM Commando, felt nice, the guy at Gibralter had it. Anyways, I'm looking to get the AEG Tokyo Marui M4A1. I'm having trouble finding a place to buy it and what I need. WGC seems to be a good place. What about UnCompany? Should I buy a package? Can I get a run-down from you guys of what I should get for my gun? Type of battery, charger, etc. Someday I hope to play (skirmish), but I don't know how to get to that day.
thanks

Yeah the CA mags will work you may want to buy locally rather than overseas but thats up to you WGC is a good place too. www.wolverinetactical.com will take care of you locally if you would rather, also consider the amount of shipping your gonna pay overseas. Also if your broke you may try www.zorks.com since they have a payment plan and are really good also. Luke EDIT: Though I wouldn't get silver mags...

go to www.airsoftplayers.com and in their navigation system, they have a link to their "seller rating" section. In there, they have a list of most retailers, both stateside and abroad, as well as feed back from the people that have bought from them. It's a wonderful piece of information until you find a couple places that you're comfortable with. As for the type of battery and charger, stay at the ASP website and search their forums. The answers are all right there. It will take much less time for you to search than it will for us to see your threads after you post. When you get a package deal, what you need to do is total up the items included in a package deal on another site. If the package deal is cheaper (and of course has what you want), then get that. make sure you factor in shipping to your price comparisons. WGC adn UNcompany are both overseas, and if shipping isn't factored into their package prices, it will raise the cost it quite a bit. Also, at the top of this section, there is a wonderful artice title "Newbie FAQ." Go ahead and read that, it's long, but worth it. Get a comfortable chair and a pop or coffee and just read.

For goggles, you can buy a paintball mask from Wal-Mart and tear the goggle part out, assuming you're not afraid of getting shot in the mouth/face. Otherwise, just leave them in the mask. Go to an army surplus store and buy some black leather gloves (Known as 'Shells'). They're cheap enough that you can cut them up and just buy another pair for fall when the time comes.

For gloves, you really don't need them, but if you have some money left over, Newman has really liked his Black Hawk Industries Hell Storm Aviator nomex gloves seen here: www.blackhawkindustries.com/product_detail.asp?product_id=2043&d=Any paintball goggles will work fine. Just find something that's balistically rated to meet or exceed ANSI Z87.1 ratings and you'll be fine (anything for paintball is, plus there are quite a few tactical goggles that are as well). Make sure that whatever you get provides a full seal around your eye with NO gaps. Again, paintball goggles meet that requirement. You may want something with a fan or thermal lense, especially if you're a heavy sweater (I wish i had invested in a fan, it's not too late though). battery, you can only fit an 8.4v 600 mAh mini without some sort of modification, and if you're leaving your gun stock (which you should do anyway), you won't need more. If you're going to be playing extended games, you'll probably want to buy a second battery so when one dies you can switch out and not be screwed for the rest of the day. As for chargers, if you have the money, get a good one with lots of bells and whisltes. It'll be a great investment. If you're broke, you can get a cheap one from radioshack. As long as it charges 8.4V NiCad batteries you'll be set. However if you go this route, you'll need to purchase a [cheap] adaptor along with your gun. chargers in America use large connectors, but the battery you use in your gun has a small connector. So you'll NEED to buy an adaptor to match (an adaptor will come with both a small male-large female and lare male to small female connectors (get your mind out of the gutter). All of this is found in the Newbie FAQ that i told you about.
