We Held the Hill. We had our orders.
Meeting engagement, wipe out the enemy.
We pressed forward in a mad dash...we needed as much stolen ground under our feet as we could. We reached the tower on the lower hill, slowly advancing to targets. Jacko layed in the prone with his 249 and let off rattling bursts into the enemy. I shouldered my G3...fired once, twice, then felt my stomach sink as the weapon jammed.
Looking about me, I saw a wounded Snip...i procured his M-16A2 and skittered forward across the ground on Jacko's right. Covering our right flank, i lay in the prone being watchful for movement. Aha! Munin crept slowly twards me through the thigh-high grass. I aligned the sights and let off a burst.
Too low. Munin looked about for a moment, and crept forward once again. Adjusting my aim, i let off a 20 round burst. Munin collapsed in the reeds. I pressed forward to the lip of the hill, and looked for new targets. With Tim's support fire, we were able to eliminate another adversary.
We spread out...only one hostile remained...The Sniper. Frostee himself.
We spread Northward along the hilltop...moving down twards the Bowl. Jacko and I met up with Xaos...who had sighted movement to the Northeast. We carefully progressed twards it, a few near misses whipping by us.
Frostee. We had Eyes on...across the northern bowl. We moved forward. I bolted to within 30 yards of Frostees location. I stood behind a tree to protect myself from his fire. Frostee looked to me on his left, and to Xaos and Jacko to his right. He alternated fire between the three of us... A round deflected off of the M-16 i held and i ducked back into cover.
Leaning right from the tree, I was able to land some fire on Frostee. Frostee fell onto his back...an ever-widening blood stain on his chest.
Jacko, Xaos and I treked back up the hill...to check on what remained of our element.
