Anyone know of a model which can be converted to the left hand? I hate cocking the bolt with my opposite hand, but I am getting used to it.
Anyone with info on this, I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm pretty sure guarder makes or made a left handed bolt for the APS series. And if I'm not mistaken, Livonia is a leftie, and uses the same technique from the movie "Saving Private Ryan" in which he reaches over the gun with his left, and racks the bolt. I could be wrong, but for the most part, no, most sniper rifles are not leftie friendly.

I was just about to tell him that Frostee. Damn. beat me to it. But yes a lot of people have problems because their not ambidextrous. I will soon be purchasing an APS2 SV and saw the kit. My friend and I are going to form a sniper team and he is going to purchase the conversion kit (possibly) if he doesnt become a spotter.
Also, the "over-the-top" cocking technique can be tricky and if your goign to play a serious sniper role, all the movement WILL give you away if your going to take the next shot.
Good news is if that if your going to be using a bipod you can train yourself to still pullback the bolt with your right hand, round one into the chamber, and close the bolt with your right hand and then perform the aiming/shooting with your left hand. This is more work but its less money and still less movement than the "over-the-top" technique.

I have nothing else to say, the over the top method I could see possible with a gass sniper, but with a spring, I just dont forsee me having the strength to smoothly cock it back over the top with how much force is needed, and using my right hand messes up that second shot. If only I wasn't so damn left eye dominant I would just change to right handed.
So is the Maruzen APS L96 one of the rifles that has this kit? The reason I ask is because I'm on a budget and picked up the UTG L96, which would most likely make the conversion compatible, since pretty much everything but the outer barrel is on those 2.

I know this isn't very helpful for this forum, but if lefties are just starting down the sniper path and have the cash to drop, an M14 with the requisite power upgrades and a decent scope is all you need for a completely ambidextrous sniper rifle. The safety is center mounted in the trigger guard and there's nothing to cock back.

I was going to suggest either that or the new CA SR-25. Basically, any electric sniper platform is going to be lefty friendly. Possibly the least friendly option would be a Systema, but only because of the mag catch. Otherwise, like Jacko said, if you have the cash, an electric might be the way to go.

I pull it straight back with my right hand, not over the bolt. But the L96 looks like it can be modified left handed with a Dremel and some time. Im really thinking about making this once I get the PDI reciver and selling it to someone who really needs it.
The bolt handle on the 96 can be flopped over to left and still move up and down correctly, it would just take some modification of the receiver and moderate amount to the stock. Then a nice sanding and paint.
