Let me put my two cents in here since this seems to be an area I like to talk about. I already had something ready to post but it was lost when I tried to spell check it 1) The Super9 is probibly the best sniper rifle on the market for under $100.00. With that being said (and before anyone barfs on their screen) if you just can't help yourself and/or get talked into buying the Super9 you will get what you deserve. You will be a target, you will be buried in bb's everytime you attempt to shoot someone, you will not be very accurate, you will not have any range but hey if you like the sting of bb's by all means buy the Super9. It may even make you think twice about playing Airsoft again. I used the Super9 for almost a year and I got very good at being a dirtbag. See the only bonus of the Super9 is it will make you: 1) move to AEG's, 2) make you see the that you wasted $100 dollars that could have been saved towards a real rifle or 3) you will quit Airsoft all together or 4) in the best case you will hone your skills and buy a better weapon and still buy a AEG . Like Caveman said there is not such thing as a sniper rifle that will not break the bank. You will spend many hundreds of dollars and many hours of being a target before you begin to look like you know anything about being a sniper. His advice is an AEG but if you like to be punished then stick with the sniper scene and learn. Now that I have said all that it is my turn to be the target. I have seem very little about the PSG1 here on the boards so I will open the can and say from what I have seem it seems to be a very good rifle. It was purchase used and needs a rebuild but it seems to have promise. I know that makes my post a little off topic since the PSG1 is an AEG but hey like I said there was a can so I opened it. Edit: By the way here is the only thing a Super9 really is good for...*grin* www.mtasc.us/Picture%20011.jpg holding up the real guns and keeping them out of the dirt. hahahahahaha

I too will throw in my 2 cents. I have had experience with a few of the guns being discussed here.
Super Nine, or SuPaH Ninah!!1! (as known by the AO sniping community) is crap. But really, if you want a gun that will break when you pull the bolt on the run or feels like the stock is entirely made up of about a 1/4 inch of plastic and empty space(because it is) then go for it!
Sun Project M40- I own one of the ORIGINAL(not XB,) M40s, one of the original ones with individual serial numbers, and handmade stocks. It is gorgeous, best build quality I have ever seen on an airsoft gun, and the best part is, EXTERNAL accessories can be had cheaply at your local Dicks Sporting Good's, thanks to the great likeness of the Remington M700 model, the M40. I love this gun, but unfortunately, it is not meant to be that great of a platform for competitive sniping in airsoft games. Its got great accuracy, and looks great, but honestly, the parts aren't there for it, and its just not made for actual "sniping". ( I wont get into what sniping in airsoft means to me, every board has that thread.) Yes, there is the gas cylinder, and yes, I have one, I hate it, and it lies on my shelf. I get about 3 shots out of a fill of gas and only one with any power behind it. POS. If you buy an M40XB, diff story, but for the originals, keep it stock, at stock power, I still hit pop cans and 2 inch groupings in targets at 175 ft, I havent found a place to practice at any longer ranges, but I know she can do it.
Maruzen APS2/TYPE 96- Honestly, for bolt action rifles and competitive sniping, THESE are the guns you will want to use. APS2 right now is the best choice, FF makes a TON of parts for it and with the right combination of them, as a fellow sniper who owns like, the most amazing rifles I have EVER even seen pics of, it makes this gun like buttah. Buttah! at 550fps, buttah is hard to come by. If anyone wants a more comprehensive list of what to buy for an AMAZING APS sniper rifle that will get you shooting upwards of 500fps like BUTTAH, catch me on AIM. The TYpe 96 is promising, I will probably buy one, maybe sooner than later, for my actual sniper rifle, and keep my M40 as a showpiece. However, as of right now, FF makes parts for it, and so does PDI, but not as many as for the APS. Obviously because it hasn't been out as long.
I dont have any experience with the M24 nore care to have any, i dont know, it just never appealed to me enough to learn about it.
Jack.
