Im considering getting either the classic army M24 socom, or the maruzen aps v2, from redwolfairsoft.com first of all, i would like to know if anyone has used this site before, and if theyre reliable, good prices, etc. second, on redwolf airsoft, they offer upgrades that they instal for a nominal price, about $70 for an internal upgrade and 400 FPS, but they only offer this for the APS v2, not for the m24. so i would also like to know about the ease and cost of upgrading the m24 to about the same, and if you have any personal views on either gun. if youve had both, great id love to hear from you.

redwolf is reliable only complaint is that shipping prices could be better (i think, but they are in HK) as far as upgrading the M24 email them and see if they will do it, if you dont to do it yourself
also if you be getting a sniper rifle i would recommend a higher FPS, 500+?

i could do 500 fps but im worried that since most of the guys i play with close in pretty fast id hurt them. we dont have all that much room, maybe 200-250 feet at the most. do you have any suggestions if i did want to do upgrades myself? also, is it generally cheaper to do it myself, and how big is the risk of destroying my gun with a crappy installation job. i know how to work paintball guns, i havnt had the chance to rip apart an airsoft gun yet.

generally it probally would be cheaper to do it yourself, but if you are not confertable doing it yourself dont... have some one else do it
if you dont have that much room i would recomend an AEG (dont know if you have one) will be about the same price with mags and bat and such and would be much better suited to a smaller area
you could snipe w/ 400 fps, but with a bolt action rifle it is optimal

I have an APS-2 SV upgraded to 550fps. I like the build of these guns a lot. They have a rather simple build ( one of the simplest out there) and are cunstructed very well. Also, there are a ton of upgrades avaliable. I've only shot a stock M24. The build was great but of course the preformance wasn't as good as my APS.
Hope that helps a little PM me if you have any detailed questions.

so it sorta looks like im down to the aps v2 since thats the only one people seem to like, even stock, with a 500 fps upgrade from redwolf. i checked this out and with shipping its about 400, but thats only to CA since i dont want to have to go through customs to michigan. does anyone know where they have the aps cheaper than 275? preferably in the us?

[sarcasm]Neither, the super-9 is the only rifle you will ever need.[/sarcasm]
Seriously, get the APS II, its like the Honda Civic of airsoft guns...lots and lots of aftermarket parts, very worth you while if you plan to snipe.

already had the super nine, and i promise never to submit myself to that kind of humiliation ever again. my brother disagrees with you, in terms of using the analogy of the civic. he'd rather blow 30 gs on a good stock car, than 10 on a civic and 20 on parts. but i got no complaints about the aps.
anyone want to donate to my "get Alex his aps v2 fund"? donators get a nice email thanking them for their donation, minimum of $400 per person.
