I am considering getting a sniper rifle for Christmas, something around the $300 range. I know that there are quite a few choices in the $300, and that's why I'm asking. I want something that can shoot the farthest distance possible. Yeah, it's a pretty broad question, but answer it if you can. Thanks in advance.

I would say APS2 even though you will need to upgrade, it's probably the best value in your price range.

I've always thought the PSG1 to be pretty cool myself.

I can get that Tanaka KAR 98k for $438 at Den Trinity, so I am considering that now. Would that gun shoot similarly to the M24 Socom at 500fps accuracy-wise and also range-wise? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the Kar 98K performs as well, if not better than the M24 socom (airsoft at least) The only problems with using the Kar 98K is that it uses gas, which would have to be purchased "regularly* and it sorta locks you in to a certain impression. You definitely could use it with woodland BDU's and tactical equipment, but you'd look highly amusing. Below is a link for you to peruse about the Kar 98, if you've not done so already. www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/reviews/tanaka_kar98k/tanaka_kar98k_review.htm

Well, the PSG-1 is a beautiful gun, I used to own one. The gun is increadibly stunning out of the box.. but shitty performance wise. If you want to the PSG-1 to be a great sniper rife like I did its gonna take a few hundred dollars to get it there like I did... now the money is soaked into my car....

Me? i say go for the M40 Xb that thing Hwwwwwooo that gun has pulled me out of a lot. we are yet to be defeated. (I got it a few months ago no major skirms just team practice at outdoor field) but also the CA m24 is appealing as well and heavy. i heard that the performance with the m24 is great but yet not for newbs. i also herd a lot of maintainece but well worth it.
Well theres my 2 cents

Zippo, super 9's are not the best gun.. It will break.. there the worse gun to ever get.. Best bet would be a ASP2 (But everyone has one) or a SP M40 XB..

Noah: I would suggest the APSII, best bang for your buck Zippo: super-9's are bad. very bad, if you have the budget, get an APSII or an m40. if not...go with the (drum roll)...Mk.1 carbine!!!!!! jeese that must be the 3rd time this week www.funnyjunk.com/pages/burger.htmjust for the hell of it ;D
