Operation: Winter Fury

I'm looking at getting a souvenier made for the the Participants of OP: Winter Fury. I'm thinking aeither a name tape (with the OP and date), a T-shirt or a patch. What are everyone's thoughts? I'll need to get a firm number so I can get them made!!

After some poking and prodding...well not really, I guess a description of the playing area would entice those of you who are sitting on the fence.


Its primarily a wooded area, dense in some spots, but overall fairly open. I can't say the exact acerage, especially if we expand our current area (its state land...its legal) but large enough to have fun, small enough so you wont get lost.

We plan on having some bunkers, and snow amount willing, we may also try and make some trenches.

I believe Devil Dog is currently working on maps, and I would assume him to have them done around the middle of the week.

If you can, put a scale on the map so we can "divy" it up into sections for "stratergery" purposes.

Stratergery-that SNL skit still cracks me up.

As Motown said.. I am working on the maps! I should have them done tonight or tomorrow..

For those that are concerned about the use of state land... I talked to LT Davis of the DNR here in Gaylord and he told me that it is legal.. As long as we clean up after ourselves. The Sherrif's Dept and MSP will be notified this week of our intentions. I have a good rapport with my neighbors and they are ok with it also!!

how deep is the snow up there ?how are the roads i have a camero so getting to and from field in a lot of snow could be a problem

The county keeps the roads pretty clear... I've got about 12 inches or so on the ground right now.. With more to come! I drive I-75 to work everyday and it's always pretty clear!

there may be a little SNAFU with the event.. As of Friday night at 1800, my unit is being mobilized in support of everything that is going on in the world. I'm leaving it up to Motown to make this happen (if he wants to). I may be gone for 6 months, or I may be gone for a year. He knows the property pretty well and is more than welcome to use my house. I'll post more when I talk to him.

Try actually reading the thread first, before asking questions like those. With a name like Winter Fury, I would think that might give you a clue what season it's being held in, I have nothing else to say.
