So Ive been doing a lot of teching lately and ive been doing a lot of things thats can change FPS and im in the market now for a decent quality chronograph. Ive found one on Evike.com that is in my budget. Its is labeled "Evike.com Advanced Compact Airsoft Computer Chronograph II" and ive been hesitating on this purchase because a couple of the revews say it reads around 30 FPS off!? I need an ACCURATE reading. So if anyone has had any experience with this chrono please inform me. Thanks to all who answer. Click for link to item.

Buy the Swiss arms chrono at ASGI, same model however they don't have that issue. What I think it was they got a few bad batches awhile back and never did anything about I've bought two from Evike, one 70-100 off another 40-60 off.
It has to do with the sensor that reads the amount of light being off. I'm not sure how all chronos work but those ones measure the speed of shaddow the bb makes I believe.

Linked above, pretty much is the Swiss Arms chrono. I've had one and can attest to it being off, or at least different than other chronographs. I've had both the Swiss arms and an Xchortech x3200 and read guns in each, and I'm pretty sure my xchortech reads more accurately. Only thing is that it is rather picky nowadays, but I'm going to look into that later.
My suggestion is save up and get an Xchortech.
And how they work might not be exactly the bbs shadow, but rather passing 2 sensors, and recording the time between each.

I have two of the Swiss arms chronos, as long as you're not in a dark area, they have been very accurate.
Serious shadows out doors or in a poorly light room have given me some bunk readings, but other than that, they've preformed flawlessly.

Seems pretty accurate. Haven't noticed much of a variation when chrono'd at games.
