Greg (field operator/owner) has been thinking about a field membership to matrix. To me it looks like you could save a pretty big chunk of money and get a lot more games in. Also the build days could really make this a top notch field with constant improvements. I did not have any input when this was put together so I do not know every little detail so it could take a little bit of time for me to ask greg and report back, but at first glance I think it could work out nicely. Please post your feedback.

If you're allowed to just pay for the months you want, that could be good. I can't really get out to many games until school ends unfortunately. During the summer though this would be awesome.

Personally I don't see anyone buying into this, as you're asking $30 a Month to be in this "club", and if I don't come out once a month to offer free labor services I'm required to pay you an additional $10 a month, or now $40.
You're currently charging $20 a game to attend, and you only host 3 events per month as stated in the power point. Even with the last two months being free I'd have to pay $160 to play airsoft for free for six months at that field, which to even get ahead would mean I'd have to come out twice a Month for six Months straight.
You're better off telling him to take a personal loan, hire a contractor, and build some amazing buildings out there (Read: Not OSB nailed to thick trees called "bunkers"), and you'd have potential to get more dudes out there.
The reoccurring problem I've seen in the past ten years with field owners is they invest a relatively low amount in the first place, and then don't invest anything else into the fields again. I'm not sure how true that holds with your turf, since I've never been out there, but keeping things fresh is always the best way to keep players coming out.

Not trying to be a dick just clearing up the numbers, you made a couple math mistakes.
6 months x 30 = 180 for total year cost.
7 months x 3 games a month = 21 games x 20 = 420.
Assume you play 2 times a month thats 14 games x 20 = 280. Savings of 100, if you play more you save more.
You also have the option of hosting private games on weekday.

The biggest issue I see is being required to help maintain the field, or pay $10. That alone would turn me off to it.

Where'd you jump up to 7 months from?
In the original post it says $30 per month for 6 months, and the last two months are free. Does that mean 8 months in total now or is that me paying for 4 months and the last 2 are free?
Also it states I have to "participate in enhancing the field" (read: Free labor) to reserve that $30 rate, else I have to pay an additional $10, or now $40. Is that $40 per month that I don't come out to work the field? Or is that a flat rate?
Assuming I don't want to come out and work on the field for free, at 4 months X $40 a month I owe the field $160. In order to break even on that I'd have to come out to eight events in the entire six months, unless that's stating that I'm getting a total of 8 months if I buy 6, which puts my total invested amount now up to $240 for the year.
Either way you slice it, to make this really beneficial for the end player, they'd have to come out at minimum twice a month every month for the duration, which again, no matter how legit the field is would get super stale.
My first bit of free advice would be to spell out the terms a little better, then pick it apart. I pay $20 a month to use my Gym, and I go 20-22 days a month, which makes the membership program worth it, because I only pay ~$1.00 per visit. If I'm paying nearly the same amount to be a member and go to your field as I would if I just show up whenever the calendar matches up, why would I want to invest?

I am unsure of the months my self. Because they dont add up right. I pulled 6 months from the slide but 8 months come from counting the months. I (I just relised my mistake) made a mistake when counting the months so my numbers are on the low side. But I do hear what you are saying about being required to play so often in order to break even. For someone like me it makes sense since I live 3 miles away and attend most games. For someone that lives 30+ minutes away it can be a issue. I will see if I can get greg to come to the boards and answer the questions directly.

I'm just saying from longevity standpoint, it doesn't really make sense to buy into this program unless you're A) Down to do free labor, B) Live within 5 miles of the field and C) Want to play at said field every weekend for the next however many months.
Personally I'd drop $10 off the total, making it as low as $20 a Month if you do free labor, then you've reached a tipping point for most players on the fence with it.
For most guys though, they like variety in fields, so basically the team decides to go to one field on the first weekend, then a different field on the next, and so on. Again, just my thoughts on it, but I'd be very surprised if more than two people bought into the program as it sits.

Making it $20 a month would equate it to just paying for one game in the month, so seeing that number makes it a little on the low side for the owner. I would be adamant on keeping the price where it stands. I do think that the requirement for build days is a bit silly, but we do need the help there. Granted I've been out of contact with Greg and Matrix for a few months now and have relinquished the job essentially to kjones, so I'm looking at this at the moment as an outsider. But personally I'd say instead of making one build day a month, you should be required to do one build day for the entire season that you're paying for. So if you pay for 3 months of the membership, somewhere in that 3 months you have to do ONE build day. That could make it more fair on the end of the club member and would get people out to our field to help improve it how they think fit. The discounted price of groups of 100 is just a weird number to me. I'm looking at that and thinking to myself... We haven't even had 100 different people show up there in total; it's been the same 50-60 people or so. I would say for the bulk deal, it could be for teams who are willing to join. Say I make a team and there's about 10-15 of us, and we all want to sign up for the membership, that should be the eligibility requirement for the discount. Getting a group of 100 was hopefully just a typo because that's a dream number to put it bluntly. This whole club thing needs tweaking and I'm glad to see you guys posted it here to get critiqued. Sorry I've been out of contact, school is destroying me!
