This coming Sunday the 22nd, not tomorrow, I'll be attending the West Michigan Airsoft's opening day at the NIMS CQB Facility. I was wondering if anyone else would be attending and as well give me some inside information on how the event is ran. So far a few friends and I will be attending the event. If you will be attending I hope to see you there.

Well, since it's going to be the grand opening at a brand new CQB facility you are not going to find a whole lot people outside of the WMiA group who have played there. It's a large 3 story former elementary school located in Muskegon. We had a training event and mild game in February to figure out the feasibility of using the facility to show the school board that it could work before we secured the building for a 6 month trial period. Cost per day is going to be $15 per player and covers the cost of the building and insurance. We are running a larger "soft opening" today for regular WMiA members to work out final game play and tweek the rules set by the insurance company and train refs. We are doing this to help prepare people for the grand opening on March 22nd. For further information please visit and join the West Michigan Airsoft forums at WMiA

This wouldn't happen to be Frank Munster know would it? I know this facility is completely new, but what about past events and locations? Will this coming event be any thing like those in the past? Obviously it's been mentioned multiple times, on Facebook most often, that things will be different as training is done for the refs.

No, I'm not Frank, I'm the other admin. Games will be of a rec style and each should last between 30 to 45 minutes depending on the scenario, and at later dates we may look into a milsim event there. The big changes are that the insurance company has more rules set upon us for operating in the CQB facility than at our outdoor field so the rules will be gone over several times before each event to ensure everyone understands the rules. And there will be no tolerance for broken rules, people caught breaking the rules will be asked to leave.

What is the address of this field? Address for Nims CQB facility is 1161 W Southern Ave, Muskegon, MI 49441. It's the former Nims Elementary School.

I don't know how I missed this until now but I'll certainly be making it out to some games.

Wait wat. *added onto ever FBI list out there* Seriously though, I'm about 3.5 hours away but a three story school sounds awesome, I'll try to make it out a few times this summer.

Do you guys have free reign of the area in close proximity to the building as well? (IE: being able to hop out a window and go around the side of the building to find a better entrance when those hallways get inevitably bogged down) Or is it the usual situation where the airsoft aspect of things has to be hidden from the surrounding neighborhood? Edit: Never mind, friggin 3 hr drive. God, the east side sucks.

Edit: Never mind, friggin 3 hr drive. God, the east side sucks. Like always we don't want to scare the neighborhood so everything will be indoors. Besides the school district boarded up all the lower level windows to secure the building when they closed it. And to keep from bogging down the hallways, the stairwells at the ends of all the hallways are free travel zones with no game play in them to allow people to transition between the three floors without getting stuck in the fatal funnels of the stairwells. Also the insurance company dictated no play on the stairs due to trip/fall liability. Three hours isn't too bad of a trip as it is all highway straight across I-96. You should try and meat up with a few people and carpool over sometime. Dates for Nims CQB Faculty - 3/8 Faculty clean up, 3/22- First Game, 4/12, 4/26, 5/17, 6/14, 6/28, 7/19. After 6 months we renew for more dates! That renewal will depend on how we treat the building!
