I have a M1 Garant that I've added a scope to it. It shoots between 400 - 450fps and is semi-automatic. I am disabled and am wondering if it would be acceptable for me to take on the role as a Designated Marksman as opposed to a Sniper? Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Thank you for any help!

Nemo, You're going to want to familiarize yourself with the FPS guidelines for airsoft play in Michigan. Take a gander at this link. If your M1 Garand is permanently set to semi-automatic and is firing between 400 FPS and 540 FPS, you're fine to use it so long as you maintain a 50 foot minimum engagement distance (MED). That is to say that you can use your Garand so long as you are at least 50 feet from whoever you are shooting at.

Thanks gigueand.. I've re-read the MIA rules and want to thank you for the suggestion. It's been a little while since I've read them so a refresher was a great idea. Based on the rules and your advise, I should be o.k in the Designated Marksman role.. Thanks again for taking the time to help me!
