We're actively working with Hell Survivors to run a huge event that goes from normal start time Saturday until around 1-2pm Sunday, to include overnight camping (on site, with electrical hookups, able to cater 42 individual campsites (35' wide by 50' deep with electrical box), as well as an ongoing swap meet.
Basically looking at something like this:
Saturday: 9am-6pm - BB warz as per usual 6pm - 10pm - Swap meet in the parking lot 10pm-midnight - Night game?
Sunday: 9am - 1pm - More BB warz 1pm - 2pm - Pack up camp sites and scoot home
Still waiting on a green light from HS Owner, but we're hoping it'll be a big enough thing to do on an annual basis, and where it's scheduled right now doesn't conflict with either Lion Claws or Blacksheep.

Even if it does conflict with lionsclaw or blacksheep, if those games aren't held in michigan i double your playerbase will be effected much. I think were all pretty loyal to The Bastards.

As much as I wish that were true, I'm wise enough to know that I shouldn't attempt to host something big on the same weekend as say, the Grayling event or something.
My hopes is that one day we put on MilSims that bring enough draw from the surrounding states. It'd be the first time that happened in at least 7 years, and it'd be nice to start seeing the Ohio's and Indiana's come up here to see what we can produce.

Well I'm already excited for this summer. It should be a LOT of fun with all of these events going on.
As usual, let me know if I can help.

Yeah I am down with bigger games, I like REC games but my favorite type of games would be ones with more MilSim style to it. (because 14 year olds don't go to lion claws)

For real though guys if we're still waiting on a green light from the owner at Hell Survivors's, remember I have a solid relationship with the owner of Hole in the Wall Paintball, he's one of my best friends. He loves airsoft because of our community. I guarantee he'll give us a green light for this. If you guys want, we can host it out there. It's also close to Lake Michigan and several inland lakes making fishing and swimming easier.
For those of you that have attended our airsoft events over the years, all of the land surrounding the paintball field is also Hole in the Wall property, more than enough to accommodate camping.
He's also one of the few Field Owners that actually likes airsoft as well as our community. As Mosin was saying, we would love to make this event annual, done deal.

I've only been to hole in the wall once and it was great. It was the most friendly field I've ever been to. It's pretty big and has a great staging area for those of you who haven't been. I would suggest that this is the best field for this event. What he is saying is true about the owner actually caring about airsoft and not seeing it as a sport secondary to paintball.

In all honesty as a long time Hole in the Wall staffer, the owner genuinely likes airsoft. We take pride on being a friendly and open field.
Off the top of my head I'm not sure how many campsites we can accommodate, I'll figure that out and get back with everyone.
We're also close to Lake Michigan making swimming and fishing easier for everyone.
Just curious here, do people like our field for the job?

Nice, but it is pretty far away, if it is not a multi day event during the summer I probably cannot go, same with the rest of my team. I am still up for it though, sounds awesome and my second favorite time to play in in the summer, I like early fall better because you can still be stealthy, not too hot so less fogging and to top it all off I don't need to dress lightly or heavily for the weather. I can just dress how I normally do. But like I said it would attract more people if it were in the summer. Because I don't think the 1.5 feet of snow or more in my general area is going anywhere for a while yet.

Yeah, but the venue is secured. Most Paintball Field's don't treat airsofter's very well.

I really love Bangor as well, mainly for the prime sniping turf it lays out.
I think if that field were to become a big thing and a top contender again, capable of drawing numbers in the 100+ range, a few things would have to happen.
1) Airsoft doesn't get treated second rate on big ops. Mainly in reference to how if we're hosting a big event Deadwood is still shut off (And subsequently the amazing hill flanks it provides) because there "could" be anywhere from 5-10 paintball players that show up that day.
2) The field itself is pretty rough. Structurally speaking I'm genuinely glad that nobody has gotten hurt and pressed charges against the field owner from the rotted wood. It's kind of a downward spiral in on itself, because players don't want to go there because the buildings are in bad condition, so the field doesn't generate money. Without generating money, the field can't rebuild. Personally, I'd look into a low interest personal loan somewhere to the tune of two or three thousand dollars, and really give it a solid overhaul. Labor is plenty easy to come across when you offer a "Build today, play X amount of games for free", and genuinely speaking, most players (myself included) want to see that field built back up to a former glory.
If I weren't already so pot committed busy on the inner workings with Hell Survivors, I'd be down to loan a few weekends to rebuilding myself, however so far I've already got 14/52 weekends committed to just hosting and building this year, and that's not even getting into any games I'd like to just attend and shoot.
Obviously, if you want to pick my brain as to what I'd build and where I'd build it and how I'd do it, that assistance will always be available to you.
Still waiting to hear back from HS for the big game for us. The main issue is I want it to be a price point that doesn't absolutely murder the wallets of the players that come on out, and I still want to be able to provide something that you won't see at a rec or a normal event as well, so it's a work in progress to say the least.
