My friend and I have started the process of making a field for airsoft use,it's on a decent plot of land (25-30+ acres) and could hold about 50 players or so. My question is what does the Michigan akrsoft community want in a field? Basically if you were to start with a blank slate for a field project what would you include? I ask because we may be hosting some events next spring, and be posting them here. Your input could build this field, and keep it running with the money from games, therefore allowing you to play on your own "custom" field in a way. Keep in mind the original plot of land is Michigan woodland in all its beauty,so we don't want to clutter it too much with structures. But any input would be great.

I know that I would love like a castle sorta fortress thingymabob. With many rooms and maybe a walkway around the perimeter, even though that's a bit far fetched.

Bunkers bunkers bunkers. There is nothing better than some trenches to fight from.

Bunkers bunkers bunkers. There is nothing better than some trenches to fight from. Some WWI style trenches would be pretty epic. Probably not very doable without a decent backhoe though. Also depending where the field is at, a lot of Michigan really sucks for digging.

Truth to that, but a couple of guys with shovels can do an amazing amount of work. I'm big with the idea of some kind of trenches, or at least lines of barriers. Bunkers are awesome too.

If there is a hill on this land why not build a trench into it? Sort of like the Japanese did during WWII.

Bunkers and trenches sound good. Maybe some wood 2x4 tank traps leading up to them?
Also, an airstrip with our own private jet would really spark my interest, but don't go to too much trouble on my account, please.

There is a section where this could be a feesie task,as much as I like dug in bunkers I'm not sure if I could build them without a workforce of heavy machinery. Which is why I'd like to suggest the idea of a workday to this community. By working you could get free admission to the first game.

Where will this field be located The field will be located in a small town in western Michigan called coopersville. Also in reply to everyone else talking about a large structure,I will be building one and already have the first part of it almost done...a watchtower.

Coopersville is a dump, literally. Town was formed around a garbage heap.
