FIELD REPAIR.
(specifically bangor)
Its been brought up in many conversations and I have not seen very much action. I personally have only been to about four games in the past three years or so but even then I could see several buildings and bridges are in serious rotting condition. From rotting boards to rusty nails sticking out from the ground, the field is becoming a hazard. If I remember correctly some of these buildings are at least 10 years old. Face it, Michigan is a very wet place. From the spring rains to the winter snow these things have had a ton of water on them for the past few years.
I propose this spring we talk to the field owners and ask if they would be willing to let us do some re-construction. Not only will this benefit the field owners, but will benefit MiA in the long run. The last thing we need right now is to have an insurance issue because someone was being all highspeed and decided to climb a tower, step on a nail, fall off said tower, and drown in the river because the bridge that would have prevented his death rotted away. On top of that he lost his weapon because as we all know.. Bangor demands sacrifices.
How might we afford this project? We do what we do best. Sling plastic at other people. Let us hold a fundraising game. Take a portion of the funds raised from the game (or several games) and purchase supplies that Bangor so desperately needs. On top of the fundraising, anyone who can donate time/supplies would be extreamly helpful. Now that I am back in town I will voulenteer my time to help the community.
I have to cut this post short as I have to go back to work, but I would like to hear opinions from you guys. I love these fields and this hobby. Time to give back to the community and the fields. If you have any problems please feel free to PM me. I would love to talk one on one with you.
