So talking is considered bitching? By chance are you related to my wife? Haha.. Calm down buddy, just because someone is adding input, does not mean its bitching, its called conversating, or communicating. Reddit seemed extremely confusing, so I gave up. I even made an account for it. Facebook is pretty much an open page, just scroll down the page, just like we already have been doing for many years on here. I have been a member here a long time too, and frustrates me also buddy. I cannot be the only person that felt overwhelmed looking at Reddit. It seems like a giant clusterfuck, or maybe its just a mobile version? I admit, I did not try on the pc, just my huge smartphone. Talking about the issue IS doing something about it, it IS participating, otherwise nobody would know what is happening correct? Without getting on here and talking, we would all be in the dark on this. Being that since I posted earlier, now I find out that there is a Facebook group for this forum, funny right? I bet others did not know this either. Here's how you could have addressed the issue if you wanted to have created a positive dialogue. You could have simply said "The MIA commerce on Reddit doesn't work for me, how about trying a different solution like facebook?" You would have received the same answer from me saying that would be great as well and that I would have done it myself had I had a facebook account. Instead here's how your post read to me: "Reddit sucks. I know all I ever need to know about it in the few seconds that I gave it a chance and quit. It's for the greater good to do something else because I don't like the reddit option". Had you just though about what you intended to get across, it would have saved you the lesson in who has been setting the standard on MIA commerce for as long as anyone can remember. Think about it this way, we all got screwed when commerce was taken offline but none more than me so I put in the work to try and get us a working solution for a fast fix to try and help the community at this time and to have that solution provide as many people access as possible and you casually stroll in here and declare that it sucks based on a few seconds looking at your mobile phone. I provided a solution that works at a time when there we no other options. You didn't even give it a chance before complaining about it. Don't tell me that didn't warrant the smart ass response you got in return. Do something that positively affects the entire community first and then maybe one day you can earn the right to bitch about a solution that doesn't line up 100% with you personal preferences. I don't know if this is helpful at all but we could just have both. Some people like Reddit, some people like Facebook, why not just have both. I'm sure my idea is flawed but I'm just trying to help. I completely agree and if there are other options available, I say we try to pursue those as well. Ultimately we need to move on from proboards though.

WOW.. Thanks for the lesson Arc, I dont know what I would do without your great wisdom on everything.
I just cant understand why someone would hate this forum and keep turning us in to Proboards.

Just a reminder for everybody to calm their tits and remember this is a TEMPORARY solution. Worst case senario, you don't buy/sell/trade airsoft stuff for a month or two. As soon as a perminate solution is found (preferably in the form of another board) we can avoid FB groups and reddit altogether (for commerce anyway).

WOW.. Thanks for the lesson Arc, I dont know what I would do without your great wisdom on everything. Glad I could help. Yeah there are a lot of vindictive little bitches out there who don't have anything better to do. EDIT: We may have a more permanent solution in the works soon.

At least make a temporary Facebook group. I would create one, however I don't know that many MI airsofters on Facebook. Name it "Michigan Airsoft Commerce Forum".

While the reddit thing is not the best is is still a million times better then any uberlame facebook shit you can put together. (fuck facebook even more then: fuck proboards). I will never visit or do any business if it based from facebook. My solution has been ebay during these times. Not the best because it is not local and you have to pay those insane seller fees but it is what I have to do if I want to sell my shit.
Thanks to arc for putting in his time and effort to create the reddit page. It was the best we could do on short notice.
On a side note I find my self visiting less and less the longer we do not have a commerce section. Before commerce was taken down I only visited MIA to see what was for sale and check the events. Now nothing is for sale and almost no new events are posted, so im fading quick. We need a new forum, a place for everything not some here and some there.

I do agree that I have noticed less activity since the commerce has been gone.
If there is anything I can do to help us reach a solution please let me know

I'm just going to throw this out here since I've already put it all over facebook.
A few of us here have been working on a project with open source forum software, which is being hosted on a private server. Our forum is currently privately funded, and we will not be looking to sustain the forum through annoying ads or subscriptions. All financial costs will be offset from a yearly patch sale.
The forum is safe from ToS violations, so commerce will not ever be shut down. All that we are asking is that you follow the forum rules, which are similar to the forum rules here.
We have been working to implement features that the community has been looking for, We have a working calender, as well as thread prefixes in most sections to help sort threads and reduce the overall number of sections needed.
Please feel free to check it out, and make use of the commerce section. Please remember to read the stickies on how the prefixes work.
Any feedback can be directed to the Feedback Thread in the offtopic section.

Squirrel,
I pulled down the URL. I'd rather not have it pitched here until we come to some sort of agreement with the owner about how we're handling a possible transition (or not) moving forward.

That is fine. I figured it would get pulled. The longer we wait to figure things out, the more scattered the community is going to become. People want commerce and event posts in one place. It only makes sense. We have a working option for those that want it.
We have spent a lot of time discussing things like ad revenue and subscriptions, and all the numbers we have run would never make it sustainable. We are hosting the forum, and will do a unique patch each year to offset the server costs. We are not interested in making money off of the forum community like some people have been proposing.
So if people want to check out the michigan 6mm commerce and events section, it is open and ready for use while things attempt to get sorted out here. We are not trying to step on any toes. We want to keep the community from scattering to other places. Proboards is a dead end, all posts here are proboards property and cannot be migrated, so a "transition" is impossible. Commerce will never work here again, so what is there to wait on? Every day this board is seeing less traffic.
