This going to be, by far, the dumbest question asked here today (I'm really glad you can't throw stuff at me on-line). What is a Barrel Condom? I'm ducking now.

A barrel condom is basically something that fits over the end of your barrel to prevent misfires. They're mainly used in safe areas, and it's just a basic safety precaution. If you have a rifle, you'll need one in order to even be allowed to play in most events. For pistols, you just need to pull the mag out of the gun and keep it in a holster. www.evike.com/products/24715/

It's a cloth bag placed on the muzzle of your gun when in a safe area. Usually held on with an attached bungie.
It's a safety device so that if you accidentally discharge in an area where people are likely to have their eyepro off the bag will catch the bb, (or paintball.)

I wouldn't want an accidental discharge. That could be quite embarrassing on several levels. Thank you for your help.

Most paintball fields where airsoft games are held require them. Action Paintball in Taylor, and Hell's Survivors require them for both paintball and airsoft guns. Pretty sure Futureball does as well. Not many of us play airsoft there however. Canto states that they are required at Hole in the Wall out in Bangor too.
It's a good idea to have at least one or two of them in the event you happen to drop or lose one on the field. They cost around $5, so you're better off having one on you when attending any airsoft event should they be required.
