I absolutely love Airsoft but feel my disability would be a disability to any team I participated with in the field. Is there any place for me on the field? I use a cane due to my arthritic ankle and walk pretty slow.

There's a place for everyone on the airsoft field, except the unsportsmanlike a-holes. Running and gunning might not be the best option but you could always sit back, snipe and enjoy picking off people from a good distance.

There's a guy I see at No Limits who doesn't have arms. Not to make light of your disability, but if that guy can do it I'm sure you could find a way. My suggestion would be the same as Bishop.

At No Limits we have had a few players that were disabled. Not a single person will knock you for being out there. We have players as young as 13 (or in some cases younger than 13). On the flip side of the coin we've had players in their late 50's. Like X said you may not be able to run and gun but if you saw the stuff we do at these events there are plenty of people who hang back and shoot from a distance (not just with bolt actions.) At the end of the day there might be a few obstacles to your game, but once you tackle them the fun you can have is endless. The fella with the arm defect at No Limits I saw out play a lot of players and it was great watching him go hard in the paint

Where is No Limits located, if you don't mind? Also, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the feedback. You just made my day!

It's in Taylor. 14141 Lange rd Taylor, MI 48180 I host the events here and as everyone else has mentioned so far, there are plenty of options for play style that don't require track star speed. Take it from me, I'm old, fat, and slow. :-)

I am too, pgnbstrd. I'm pretty excited now because I just added a scope to my M1 Garand for snipping. I also have a Thompson M1A1 I can use for a support role. I think I'll buy a "cammo" cane - for effect.

You certainly have a welcome place in the field. Airsoft isn't about being the fastest guy on the field, a guy with 99and1 kill ratio, or a being the dude with 1000's of dollars worth of guns and equipment on the field. It's all about having fun shooting other dudes who want to shoot you. It's what you chose to make it.
Hope to see ya on the field soon!

Thanks for all the advice. I'm obviously new here and you have made me feel very welcome. I can't wait to get out to the field.

Support guns might also be in your interest, suppression from a distance is always nice for the team you're running with. Happy airsofting. Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards

He's the kid that always runs ACU right? I've seen him play at Kalamazoo a few times. That dude has my respect.

Like everyone else has said, I really think you'll be alright. Just find a role/position that fits your playing style and personality.
PM sent by the way.
