I am a former competition paintball player from Ann Arbor, Michigan. (I ran with Detroit GRIND back in the day, Atlanta Havok before that. Messed around with Team Ultimate from Atlanta and a few other pro boys. Back in my prime I wasnt too bad....and I still know damn well how to handle myself on the field.
I am looking to get in with a group of guys (over 21 if possible...I am 23 year old construction company owner. I would like to ball with like-minded players if possible. I will be taking this serious while having fun but would like other guys to be the same.)
I have played at TangoDown in Detroit as this is the closest field to me, i think. (I am in Ann Arbor).
If anyone has any ideas for where to play within a 40 mile radius of where I live (whether private fields or public fields)
Thanks
Blake Horn

No Limits in Taylor, Hell's Survivors in Pinckney, and Matrix in Romulus are my favorite fields, and they are all within 40 miles of Ann Arbor I think.

Are you available to play next weekend? If so where would you like to go? I can drive to any of those fields . I would rather Hell's Survivor's, however..considering I have never been there and I have heard of it from paintball.

Phoenix tactical is also within 40 min of you. Small indoor and outdoor field. Very fun.

I'm not a super serious airsoft player at the moment. Thanks for the offer though. And good luck finding a good group of people to run with. I know they're out there!

Just a heads up. Airsoft events are different from paintball in that most fields do not have games every weekend. You will want to check the events section here on MIA for a list of upcoming games. Airsoft games tend to be bigger, but less frequent than paintball.

I understand. This is unfortunate. I suppose for weekly play I can continue to go to Tango Down Tactical in Detroit (It isnt too bad...the players there are not the most honest from my first experience but it is open every weekend...so thats nice.
I will definitely check that section out.
On a different note. Is there an area on here for B/S/T like on pbnation.com?

Obviously you've been playing airsoft at Tango Down, so you know the game but airsoft is very different than paintball. As both an old paintball player and an airsoft player my advice to you is to just start attending airsoft events and invest in a base green and tan set of camo so you can attend events and play on both sides. That way you'll get to know the players and the community. I would go as far to say that the airsoft community in Michigan is a lot smaller compared to paintball, or what it used to be back when paintball was really popular. So you'll see many of the same people attending many of the events all over the state. A lot of us that are based in South East Michigan will also travel to events on the other side of the state and sometimes up north. And a lot of guys travel from as far as Grand Rapids to attend local rec games down in South East Michigan. By simply attending events and getting to know people, I'm sure you'll start meeting other players that have the same interests and ambitions as you do. We as a community also attend a lot of large scale MILSIM events in and out of state together. Many of us are all playing at a 24 hour game being hosted up at Camp Grayling at their new M.O.U.T facility in a couple weeks. Just wait until you start attending these types of events where you can see how airsoft really shines.

I would love to attend an actual event. (even back when i was playing paintball I was always jealous of all you guys doing these MILSIM events...they look so fun!)
Thanks for the information.
Also, I may have wasted money on blacked out bdus then, correct?
What is the general feeling toward all black uniforms? I built mine because of Tango Down being somehwat darker and indoors...i figured I could hide/blend better.
Would you be interested in going to Tango Down on Saturday by any chance?

Black BDUs are a waste. They would only make sense if the walls were literally black under daylight. As the environment gets darker your uniform will also get darker. For indoors I've never felt a need for camo as it's always so tight and fast paced that it doesn't matter. For outdoors I would recommend M81 woodland. You can buy one set and use it at any game and for most places in Michigan it blends pretty well.
If you play a lot of indoors you could keep the black, but have no delusions that it will conceal you.

Ok! I will go ahead and order off some M81 Woodland BDU's so that when I play outside I dont look like a douche I have nothing else to say.
Also- To the OP
I will unfortunately have to cancel this sunday. My Fiancee (who is currently in Germany visiting her family) decided she wants to come back on Saturday so I will be with her on Sunday after my estimate.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Hopefully I can come next time.
