www.evike.com/products/33102As the title says. I'm buying a new gun and I like the Magpul furniture. This gun is basically the same as my current KWA CQB so I can swap my prometheus into it. I want to run <=350 FPS for arms length. This gun looks really close to my real AR which is part of the reason I like it. Real AR: Should I be buying this somewhere else? or is there anything I'm missing? I haven't actually bought a new gun in years. The KWA is on it's last leg so I want to get into a new gun before I have to rely on my backup rifle at BlackSheep. ye old KWA below... EDIT: I'd also like to run this battery in the buffer tube. Anyone using this battery and can confirm it fits in a G&P tube? www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__44079__Turnigy_nano_tech_1200mAh_3S_25_50C_Lipo_AIRSOFT_Pack_US_Warehouse_.html

I had that exact model G&P and it's one of the few guns I really regret getting rid of. I'd recommend it with out hesitation.
I'm not sure on the battery though, as I run 7.4vs in mine. I have no problem running the 7.4v version of that battery and my fcu for the polarstar in a G&P buffertube, so I don't see why you'd have and issue with a standard 11.1v.

I have had good luck with G&P m4's. Just be aware that some have had issues with the selector switch being a little finicky. Seems to be the norm to have to put it to FA then back to semi every now and then. As far as the battery is concerned that may be a bit large in diameter for the buffer tube. If it fits I'll be getting one too though

I've had 4 G&PS in my time, and reccomend them without hesitation, but with this advice:
All new G&PS seem to have circular screws for their motors, so be ready for that. Their motors are also not the best. With a Lipo, your response time is good, but your actual cycle leaves something to be desired. So be careful with what motors you get for it, or be ready to invest in a new wiring harness.
Their hopup bucking and nubs are OK for being stock, but the chamber itself isn't very good. Its your regular Marui clone, but I've had a lot of issues with getting it adjusted and staying adjusted.
Barrel is brass, like with most stock barrels. Obviously in need of replacement.
There is only one thing that actually needs immediate attention, though. That is the spring. Every single stock G&P I have ever owned decides it likes to shoot 440 out of the box. So be ready for that. Even if it is advertised as shooting lower, be prepared for it to be shooting WAY hot.
TL;DR The gun needs the usual upgrades you put into a new gun, but have a M110 or lower spring on hand since it probably will be hot. Aside of those few issues, get it.

I found some useful info on the G&P buffer tubes. airsoftpacific.com/viewtopic.php?t=35291I'm very concerned that the battery I picked may not fit. He measured the inner diameter at 24.81mm the diagonal measurement of the battery I picked should be ~24.84mm. For all intents and purposes they are exactly the same size.

Might be able to file the insides down a bit?

^Be VERY careful with what battery you choose if its going down the buffer tube. I made the mistake of buying a battery that technically fit, but didn't leave enough room for the wires.

Ahh I didn't read his post correctly. The VFC is 24.8mm. The G&P on the other hand is 26.2mm. I'm gonna go for it.

I'm going to let you buy all the stuff, then possibly x2 it if it all works out well.

So I have the new batteries and I'm 99% sure they will fit. They fit in my KWA buffer tube no problem. I'll know for sure tomorrow when the UPS man stops by.

I must say that I am seriously underwhelmed with G&P, Magpul (PTS), and Evike. I'll just list off the issues that I have so far.
1) Packaging was pathetic. Gun was loose in the box with nothing to hold it still.
2) The MOE stock is a huge pain in the ass to remove from the buffer tube. Unlike my RS CTR stock the MOE's pin is flush mount so I have to break my damn finger nails to get the thing off and on in order to change the battery.
3) The MOE stock is looser than Miley Cyrus.
4) When I first picked up the gun I took it from safe to semi for the first time and the trigger was locked like I was in safe. Talk about first impressions! I can get this to happen sometimes just by switching from full to semi. When it doesn't happen I can feel the trigger catching on the safety stop.
5) The bolt catch just rattles around on the upper.
6) The hop-up only adjusts like 45 degrees. I checked my KWA and it's adjustment is about 270 degrees.
7) Faux bolt doesn't return to battery unless I rip on the charging handle or push the charging handle in.
8) Dust cover doesn't actually close.
I haven't even shot it yet and I'm completely regretting not getting another KWA. :/

Probably just a lemon. A really bad lemon.

Definitely feel you about the MOE stock and getting it off. Obviously, the MOE was not designed to be removed all the time like an airsofter requires.
My GPs all have the charging handles that don`t snap back into place when released. I kind of like tbis since the faux bolt cover remains open so you can adjust the hop up without having to keep pulling the handle back. I have to give it a forward push to close the faux bolt cover and send the charging handle back to battery.
Also, yeah, dust covers on GPs don`t close.
