I know someone else will ask so I might as well first, is this the same field that is located in a public park? Who authorized the game? Also, if it is all authorized that means the whole park is closed to anyone not playing bb wars? I'm interested in stopping out if the place is now legit.

Yes it is in a public park but we are well away from public view. The host of this game also has written permissions from the police to use the park for our purposes of sofenting the air if you catch my drift. In all seriousness though we do have the permission of the police department to use the park, they have come before and they know we use it so they gave us permission long ago. Rest assured everything has been planned for.

Do you guys have any sort of liability release forms, or insurance? As much as I love the sport and events, I'd hate for someone to hurt themselves out there, as things can get pretty nasty if that happens.

I'm also thinking it would be a good idea to get some rolls of the red string or whatever to basically section off any areas were passersby may accidentally walk onto the field.

The facebook group that "runs" the field has a waiver which I believe I have attached to this post. As for the red tape or string that is going to be a lot of string and or tape we have maps for both teams already to show the boundaries but as for cordoning off our AO that would require almost a mind blowing amount of effort to do accurately. Wow I just now caught the changes to my earlier post, the one after Pagan told me to make changes to my thread. Whoever changed it to what it currently says I find that to be extremely rude and unprofessional. I don't know if that is how these boards operate as I am obviously new here but that kind of behavior is uncalled for, If I unintentionally made a redundant post please just let me know instead of being rude, offensive and immature about it.

You are hosting in a public park, in the past you guys have been known to completely disregard MiA regulations to the point where it was brought up in a thread here over something on facebook.
Why are the mod's even letting you host a game. I've had countless arguments with SE-MAP before, you guys are endangering the sport. Playing on public lands is never a good idea, and whether or not you have permission, it's still illegal. Either find a sanctioned field/private land or don't host. I'm not willing to let my sport be endangered by those who can't do those basic things. No serious player is going to show up to an event on public land.
EDIT: Imagine what could happen if a man strolled through the AO who just so happened to have a CCW and was concealed carrying at the time? To you, you are just playing a game, to him you are possible armed assailants. We don't need anymore people shot/killed over this sport. If it was me walking through the park, I see a man in camo, tactical gear and a gun approach me, You are not going to get the benefit of the doubt, your ass is going to be dropped faster than you can blink. That would be the reaction of the majority of trained CCW holders who feel that their life is in danger. You can say, but Ogre, they would go to court over killing the Airsoft player. Yes they would, they would have any and all charges dropped. Lethal force is a justified response to that situation. Don't risk it dude. Be the responsible guy who walks away from this group, come out to some legit fields. Don't put you're life on the line for a game.

I'm new to both SE-MAP and these message boards as well as airsoft in general only having been playing since January of this year so my understanding of the obvious open hostility here is limited if not non-existent. I'm just helping to get a game together and was wondering if anyone here wanted to play as I met a bunch of cool people at OP: Maelstrom and wondered if they would like to get in on some of the action. I did not expect this sort of treatment to a person new to these boards and the sport. Honestly we're just in it to have fun and wanted to know if people wanted to partake, If I upset anyone I did so unintentionally.
Feel free to delete this thread I will likely not be coming back to post an event with hostile people like this out and about.

It's not open hospitality, more or less policing. We set and keep to a certain standard here, playing on public lands is something that is not endorsed or allowed here. I get posting on another groups behalf but the SEMAP players don't want us at their games anyways because they think were too strict. Were not, the rules we have, have been in place for years and we keep to them to protect Airsoft as a sport, It has come close to being banned several times and we would like to avoid that. If you would like a better explanation PM one of the mods. This is a great place for new players that understand the reasons why we do what we do.

This thread is indeed for a SE-MAP game. It will (like all their past games) not be an event to comply with MIA rules, much less a MILSIM.

SE-MAP grudge aside, I still find it very rude to edit someone's post so that it say's, "It has been updated I think I'm retarded. doy! if editing it notifies you but in the case that it doesn't I am notifying you now. Thanks looking at this on such short notice." That isn't cool because:
1. I'm new here and it was a legit thing to be unsure of. 2. Saying someone is "Retarded" when you mean stupid is disgusting.
So obviously I don't know who did it but seriously guy? Grow up a bit please.

It's called a text filter. Whenever you use the letters L O L immediately next to each other, it does this: I have nothing else to say . I can't remember for the life of me what you have to say to get the " I think I'm retarded. Doy! " but I know its fairly common. It also happens to everyone. Onto the actual point. It's not that we're assholes, we're just very protective of this awesome sport/hobby. It's something we as a community enjoy. Naturally, when someone threatens to give the public a bad view of us we tend to take offense. We want this sport to thrive, but groups (Unfortunatley, like SE-MAP) continue to make us worry about the safety of our sport here.

This is offensive, unprofessional and immature the fact that these boards have a text filter that AUTOMATICALLY changes something to that phrase shows a lot about the people that run this place. Not saying you are ass hole's also not trying to endanger the sport's continuity I have only ever seen players at SE-MAP and my home field display the utmost professionalism when in the public eye people regularly stop and chat with us after matches if anything we are educating the public. I speak only from what I have seen and done myself I cannot speak on past occurrences but from what I have seen so far SE-MAP players have only been professional and informative and compliant.
