I'll start off by saying that this was some of the most fun I've had playing airsoft in a while.
Pros:
Good players, did not have any issues with players calling hits Weather was great early morning, got a bit warm in the afternoon, but was still very playable Price was perfect Play time was much longer than others game, allowing for creative scenarios Amount of players was perfect for the field size in my opinion Friendly players Northern Michigan event
Cons:
Down time between rounds/scenarios was a lot longer than needed and desired (accordingly to most players) - this particularly worried me as if the expected turnout did happen, it would have only delayed things further. I've been to games with 250+ players and it started right on time. It's all about keeping time tables and making sure all event staff are on the same page. Not too worried about it, but a little work doesn't hurt.
I'll be looking out for more games hosted by Marzicola, or at Area 51 for that matter. Overall a great time!

Alright, finally just getting around to the AAR.
To start off, a thanks to the owners of the Area51 field and for Marzicola for giving us the opportunity to play there. I had a ton of fun, and hopefully will be able to make more events.
The Good:
I had absolutely zero issues on the field. There was some minor chatter about hit calling issues, however I did not experience any. In the middle of the day the wind picked up, and I believe that had something to do with people thinking they hit someone when they missed.
We played for the majority of the day, and had a good combination of fast game-play along with more strategic, slower games as well. The siege of the village and dude ranch bunker was a ton of fun, even though I had to remove myself from the second part with a jam. The field overall is great, there is thick brush and cover everywhere. I've played at Area51 multiple times, and the field is always excellent.
I'm pretty happy with an event being realistically close to me. The drive was reasonable from my house. Hopefully there are more games in the North in the future.
The Not-So-Good:
I was slightly upset that the scenario was aborted for the day. I drove down ready to play as a rebel, but to my disappointment it ended up being a rec game. I'm happy to be able to play, don't get me wrong, but for future reference hosts should have a contingency plan for their scenario in the event of fewer people showing up than they anticipate.
Armbands were used to distinguish each team, and it created several friendly-fire incidents. Many players would shoot first, and look second resulting in this issue. It was slightly frustrating to deal with.
Like what was said before, there was a significant amount of downtime between games.
Overall, it was a fun day. I agree with PricelineNegotiator, I'll be on the lookout for more of these games!
Also, hopefully I can get the video off my GoPro on here soon. That over-the-shoulder mount gives a really unique perspective, although I had a couple of issues where my movement caused it to slide down and look at the ground. I'll try to get that up within the next few days.
