Make sure you are clear with the squad leader for A2-4 before registering for those slots.

Blacksheep or Eagle, As I understand it, you both work for Blacksheep. I intend on asking the Major in person at the event (Unless I hear it directly from him otherwise) but I haven't found anywhere that says a player can't use a bolt action rifle in a squad. Majority of the guys on the Facebook page seem to think there is immediate connotation with bolt action = sniper = sniper team only, yet nowhere in the OpOrd or Ruleset is this explained. Obviously I'll be planning on using a normal M4 style weapon platform for the duration of the day, but as gas tanks run out and batteries die, the only thing I know that is accurate to hit a man sized target at 100 meters is my Maruzen APS2, and since it's a spring platform as long as my arm still has momentum I can effectively provide support for the rest of the squad. Obviously I'm shooting within sniper rifle platform FPS limits, as well as minding my MED. I'd like to be able to use it for the event though, since urban long range shooting is something I haven't practiced in a long time. Looking forward to seeing you fellas out there. If you are not on a sniper team then whatever weapon you use will have to chrono at regular AEG FPS and cannot use sniper rifle FPS limits. That said, if you do have a sniper rifle, why not just sign up for a sniper position? Nothing says your commander has to have you separate from a squad the entire time so you could both snipe and run with a squad (and snipe with the squad as you would be a sniper element.) And just because you are a sniper you do not have to only run a sniper rifle. A Blacksheep squad is normally 11 players to mimic an Army squad: 1 Squad Leader 2. Fire Team Leader - Fire Team A 3. Rifleman 4. Rifleman 5. Rifleman (Medic) 6. Automatic Rifleman (SAW Gunner) 7. Fire Team Leader - Fire Team B 8. Rifleman 9. Rifleman 10. Rifleman (Medic) 11. Automatic Rifleman (SAW Gunner) Platoon Leaders (when used), Riflemen, Squad Leaders, and Fire Team Leaders have to use a weapon that chronos at AEG FPS. No DMRs or sniper rifles that fire above AEG FPS. Automatic Riflemen (SAW Gunners) can use either an AEG FPS weapon or a SAW (must be a SAW or LMG replica, not an M4 with box mag, IAR, etc.) An RPK with a hicap is normally acceptable as a SAW because there are not a lot of COMBLOCK SAW guns out there. Anyone using an RPK just needs to check with game staff about it. Snipers are usually teams of two to four with pairs of snipers and spotters. Each member can carry a sniper FPS weapon or AEG FPS weapon. No SAW guns.

So technically he could swap out the spring to be within normal AEG fps and just run it that way? In that case he could fill the marksman role without being in the sniper squad? It wouldn't disadvantage him too much considering most range comes from the hop up, not the fps.

Eagle,
The way it was explained to me was if I signed up as a Sniper team, then I am required to do whoever's bidding that presides above me. What this means to me is that I wouldn't be able to run with my squad if I got a call in asking for me and whoever I ran with as a spotter to go somewhere else. I'd like to be able to serve as long range accurate support for my squad, and obviously I would have a pistol that I would use for close engagements.
That being said, if during the game I decide to pull out the sniper rifle, am I allowed to "switch" to a sniper team billet and keep on playing?

Same here. Running M81 Camo. Ready to prepay once I am placed in a squad. If I don't get any takers by Saturday, I'll form my own squad.

Hey CJA, I believe earlier there were some dudes on the BSM FB page looking to run MC on Bravo. Not sure if these are MI guys, but rando's aren't always a bad thing.

I've looked all over but didn't find a definitive answer. Would three round burst be allowed for a rifle man? I know it says semi auto only and no full auto but I couldn't seem to find anything covering three round burst.

No exceptions from what I've been told. I was disturbed to see the fps allowed for squad weapons, and got in to a pretty lengthy conversation about full auto allowance and fps.

I saw that conversation regarding the saw fps rule. While I agree that that is an extremely high speed, they also cannot be used indoors, thus eliminating MOST of the possible cases of full auto at close range. It is also key to remember that blacksheep milsim has been running events for about 6 years now and has multiple venues. They have yet to have had a major issue with this rule. What it comes down too is player responsibility and honor. I have a pretty heavily modified saw shooting about 380 with .20. Even though it is full auto, I still personally use it in short bursts. I understand that not all players can be honorable, but that is a risk that happens at any event.

So doorways and windows are targets for high fps auto fire. What happens when a gunner is shooting out of a doorway and someone walks around that corner three feet away? They eat a blast of full auto at up to 510 fps with .20s. That's bullshit. Plain and simple. I know there are usually responsible adults at these events, but I know of one player attending that is guilty of shooting a bb into the skin of at least two players from shooting a hot gun at close range. Sadly there is always the chance for the " this is the first time we had an incident". I'd personally rather make it a non issue, but it's not my event and I already paid so I'll deal with it.
