Hey guys its "Diff" I have been playing in west michigan for a while, but other than one field there isn't much that goes on. I would like to play more than i do now i just do not have anyone to play with. I am 17 years old, almost 18 very athletic, i am a varsity hockey player for my school
I run an upgraded MK96 Sniper rifle. Im new to sniping so if your team already has a sniper I would appreciate that person becoming a mentor to me. As a side arm i have a Umarex H&K USP CO2 Pistol. I have a tan condor chest plate with green and tan molle pouches. Also have a water pouch. I have also use a walkie talkie with a 10 mile radius! I run nice red wing outdoor boots and no helmet. I have various sorts of camo, but i can always buy new that matches the team.
Thank you and if you choose me i can promise to be very cooperative and loyal.

Hey there, it's good to see fellow hockey players. I'm kinda in the same situation as you. I'll send you a pm.

Hey this is Ryan. I have been looking for a team to join aswell. I currently own a SD98 bolt action spring Airsoft sniper rifle. With a beretta m9 pistol. I wear tactical gear such as backpacks. Shoulder gun and ammo pouches. High range flashlight. And more. My rifle has a 720fps so it's very high powered. Only problem with it is the hop up needs to be fixed.

Don't expect a 720FPS rifle to be allowed at almost any events in the country, let alone state. Just a heads up.
Also, don't believe the FPS unless you have personally tested it with .20g bb's as a lot of web sites will measure with .12g

Why not 720 fps? And I have used it with .20 gram bbs.

Short and easy answer: Safety. We are not looking to actually hurt people and bb's traveling that fast can easily embed in skin (personal experience on that included). Also, if people actually bothered to read the general blanket rules and engagement limits for events held in MI (seen here then that would have not even been wondered to begin with. I haven't been around the forums much in the past couple years, but a staple here has always been to read the stickies (especially the ones pertaining to forum rules and event rules). We have been doing this a LONG time (10 years+ in my case) so we may have learned a thing or two about the smoothest ways for things to operate. I reiterate: safety. And not just because it is the INTELLIGENT mindset, but can you imagine all the hassle and ramifications if you were THAT GUY (or girl, whatever) that embedded a bb into a 14 year old kids neck at a game? Not cool.

Because 550 is the Limit set by MiA standards and most fields go by that rule because it makes the insurance companies happy as well as the fact as the largest Michigan Airsoft group in the state, if they don't follow MiA guidelines they generally aren't allowed to host unless they put a disclaimer on the event that they are not following set MiA guidelines. You'd be hard pressed to find a field that doesn't follow those guidelines because MiA support means more business.
However 550fps+ rifles are allowed at the event hosts judgment, say if I show up to an event with a 620fps sniper and I inform the event host about it before hand, they may allow it and give me a 75ft engagement distance as opposed to 50, however, don't expect that kind of treatment everywhere. Those types of deals are generally reserved for well known and respected players who have a history of following the rules, and not every event host is the same. For example, Mosin might stick you with a 150ft engagement distance while Pagan might flat out reject you (both probably will, Just making an example)
So in a nutshell. That's why 700fps rifles aren't allowed. They were rules set almost a decade ago and MiA is large enough to enforce them
EDIT: BorderKender beat me too it.

Why not 720 fps? And I have used it with .20 gram bbs. Another short answer to this is that I like having teeth.

I'm going to chime in with two points.
The original post was from 6/28/2014 and was the ONLY post from the OP. So a necro post started this entire conversation.
This is a recruitment thread, if you'd like to have this conversation, take it out of this section.
Just as a side point: I don't know a single legit event host that would allow fps that high. I personally would not allow anything even remotely close to that and I would never attend an event where it was allowed.
