If there's a chance that a bb will go through it then you might as well not wear goggles.

The "vents" are solid pieces of plastic as i'm sure you know. Drill a couple holes smaller than the diameter of a bb into them.

I've never seen an event host complain about them, then again I don't get out much to play downstate.

They are not full seal without the vents. Event hosts also frown on modified goggles and may declare them unfit; its their right. That said, I have seen literally dozens of players over the years run without the vents at MiA events without any host complaints that I'm aware of; I also have modified mesh vent replacements on both my flakjacks. Just be aware that if you don't have the vents you are engaging in an unsafe practice.
