I want to build a kit using the Kryptek camo schemes Highlander, which is tan based, and Mandrake, which is green based. But before I do that, I wanted to know if these would be allowed in milsim events since Kryptek was originally designed as hunting camo from what I've read.

Unless the host states that it is an allowed camo, or agrees to allow it, it's probably not going to be a useable camo in Milsims. Most hosts use either current in use camo or something that was issued in the past. It would be fine for most rec games, but I'd suggest looking at something else if you would like to use it at Milsim events.

However you can mix it up a bit, I run a highlander battle belt and pouches on my multicam pants and top and no one notices.
