I picked a boneyard WE M14 up from steelfallenangel a few months back for $40. The trigger box was separated and pretty much unusable ( very common problem) So I took the trigger box to work and welded it back together and now that works perfectly. I also got rid of the old plastic stock and ordered a surplus stock for a real M14 (http://www.fredsm14stocks.com/), I had to used a dremmel to make space for the WE M14 but it only took about 1 hour of easy sanding. I sanded the stock down to bare wood and applied 3 coats of high gloss poly. I also ordered a slotted heat shield for the real steel M14 from the same website. To make it fit I had to widen the gap for the charging handle ( easy task). The only thing I have left is to order a new castle nut for the flash hider. Tell me what you think.
