I didn't know where else to put this, so if it needs be moved, sorry admins!
In preparation for Operation: Western Gambit on 3/08/14, I purchased a pair of Yaktrax Walk for my Goretex boots, per a MiA member I do not recall. I figured it would prevent me from slipping on ice.
They performed pretty well, I did not come close to slipping, not once, so hey, that's what they're for, right? I even got some "whoa!"s at lunch when people noticed the rubber and steel coil contraptions on my boots.
Anyhow, thanks to the deep snow, I lost one of them at some point. It was reunited with me thanks to Novak, but after re-installing it, it fell off again later in the day and I did not notice. So after the Op I was left with 1 Yaktrax; not very useful.
Anyhow, as I felt a bit bummed being that they were brand new and I had just lost one, I posted a message on Yaktrax' Facebook, simply telling them what happened to me and telling other prospective users to possibly purchase the "Pro" model, which has straps to better hold them on to your footwear.
Within a few minutes, I got an answer from their Facebook, giving me an email address to their parent company's CS, which is IMPLUS. I emailed them, told them my story, and the very next day, I got an email from one of their representatives, in which she told me she felt sorry that the product fell off my shoe, and then followed by telling me that if I gave her my full name and address, she would try and send me another one so that I could have a complete pair again.
Honestly, I was flabbergasted(yes, flabbergasted). I never expected anything to come out of this email correspondence other than a "sorry and thank you", but 4 business days later, specifically today, I received not 1, but a COMPLETE PAIR of Yaktrax in the mail!!!
My faith in customer service and humanity in general has been marginally improved. I hope that after reading this, other people looking for better traction on their footwear will consider this great company with a very simple yet useful product!
