I can easily hit a man sized target at 200 ft and have no ptoblem with an effective range of 250 with HPA, stock barrel, and stock hop using .28s. I'm unable to tell what kind of fps or joule reading im getting since I dont have a chrono, but I didn't touch the velocity adjustment from the factory. Some guys on the fb tippmann m4 owners group were reaching out to 270 with a simple barrel upgrade.
The nub is completely proprietary and is inserted through the top of the upper. Bizzare system, but it seems to work. If anyone buys one of these READ THE MANUAL. You absolutely must calibrate the rate of fire in order for the gun to work properly. It takes less than five minutes, then you're golden. Some reviews were bashing it without having calibrated the rate of fire or running a low pressure rig from their polarstar which will cause the gun to malfunction.
Even if I was only getting 100ft out if this thing, I would still enjoy the hell out of it just with the noise, feedback, and aeg mag compatability. Full auto is too much fun!

Can you place other nubs in it or is there no way to? I have been hearing about people completely switching out the bucking and nub but they said it took a little bit of trial and error. On the facebook owners page apparently some guy with connections with Tippmann brought up the subject that they might put out a model that comes stock with a flat hop nub. If the nub is proprietary I would at least like to be able to throw in a Prommy purple bucking or something.

Yeah, a lot of the negative reviews I've seen have been a result of user ignorance. Individual guns may or may not need to be tweaked out of the box in order to insure proper performance. All of the instructions on how to do this are in the manual. There are also a lot of videos popping up here or there to show people how to tune/adjust their rifles.
People also need to remember that these guns require at least 800psi to function properly, so running the gun with a <200psi Polarstar rig will cause problems. Straight co2 or HPA through a remote line only.

Just wanted to bump this:
I found out today that TC Paintball won't be stocking the gun. At least in the Traverse City store. The clerk there basically said they don't have enough business in the winter to justify getting any guns in stock. They will, however, order you one if you ask.
