So while picking up some other items from Evike, I bought a ICS QD Type Mock Silencer. Upon opening the box to my dismay the front was painted orange. (*Note: Not my picture, but same thing) Luckily soaking it in acetone in my sink for about 30seconds softened it up to remove it by scratching it with my fingernail and didn't remove the undercoat of black paint. After fixing that I ran into a problem trying to remove some of the paint on the inside, so I tried unscrewing the cap so I could reach the orange area inside of it better. For the life of me for 20minutes I couldn't unscrew either side. Thinking I might be unscrewing it the wrong way (possibility ICS is CW instead of CCW for loosening) I looked around online for help to no avail. My question is does anyone know if they seal stateside silencers shut? My tracer unit (for obvious reasons) wasn't, but try as I might I can not unscrew either sides of this thing (front or back). I read somewhere that some people picked up Madbulls that were sealed shut and wondering if they do this to ICS ones stateside before I get a pair of channel locks and try and unscrew the back.

Can't say for all of them but mine isn't sealed. And to break it down it is CW threading with the standard CCW threading to put it on the gun.

If it is glued shut I would hit it with a heat gun for a few minutes. That is the same thing I do to remove flash hiders and it works like a charm.

If it is glued shut I would hit it with a heat gun for a few minutes. That is the same thing I do to remove flash hiders and it works like a charm. Tried boiling hot water, really only ended up burning my hand through the rag after 30-40 minutes of letting it soak longer and longer (since the whole thing is metal the whole thing eventually got hot).

Well I emailed Evike to see if they knew anything about this and this was their response;
If they're glued shut, does that mean they still have the ability to come undone (after possibly long hot soaking or something)? I am assuming they used a thread locker and didn't JB weld them shut or anything.
