Here is a link to the SB199 Petition. petitions.moveon.org/sign/veterans-service-members?source=s.em.mt&r_by=9922500If you dont know what SB199 is a legislation in California that is trying to force airsoft guns to be painted bright colors to help law enforcement tell the "Toys" from there real steal counter parts. But all it would accomplish is to destroy airsoft in California and actually make a law enforcement officers job more dangerous. This is bad not just for California but if it passes it could very well spread and ruin airsoft in general. Signing this doesn't take long and could help the airsoft community immensely. I was not sure where to post this and didn't see anything about it elsewhere but if its in the wrong place or there are already some threads about it feel free to move of remove this.

Woops wrong link. Sorry I corrected it. Just a heads up. The bill passed California state senate. Its half way to being a law and if you dont think that effects us then think about this. Any guns that are imported threw California will have to be painted bright colors. Even if you buy it for use in another state and the only alternative to that is having it imported threw new york which is known to cease and slow down airsoft related gear. So signing the petition helps everyone. Sorry again for the wrong link. Nash

Nash seeing as you are new, I won't make too much of a big deal with you triple posting. Next time though if you need to modify or add anything else to your post or comment before anyone else responds, just use the "edit" function.

SB 798 and SB 1315 resurface. Did a high school research paper/presentation on them. I doubt the issue will ever subside, just turn up with a new number.

Can we just remove California from the union? Maybe detonate some charges on one of the fault lines and push it off to sea? I'm fine with them making their own state miserable and/or dangerous to live in, but stop fucking with things that will affect other states!

Its pretty ridiculous that's for damn sure, could make airsoft way more expensive for everyone. And its gonna lose them 400million in taxable revenue. How dumb do you have to be to think that's the right choice. Only hope is that it gets vetoed again.

I can't for the life of me remember where I read it but there was an article about a petition like this before. They stated that signatures from outside California didn't help them and asked that only California residents sign it. Is that still the case?

I'm fine with them making their own state miserable and/or dangerous to live in, but stop fucking with things that will affect other states! There is actually a petition in California to break the state up into 4 or 5 states. SoCal would be its own little world. I'm not sure how far it got, but I know it had a lot of momentum from residents of the more rural areas of California. Aside from being intrusive, I see a bunch of problems with implementation and enforcement. Any drug lord with a can of spray paint and half a brain could then have a "airsoft" gun. Not gonna fix any problems. Stupid Cali politics.

They have this cool new thing called paint to fix whatever the fucktarded californians mess up. It will be ok. It wouldn't be the end of the line for airsoft, however it would hurt local economies because U.S retailers would suffer from everyone purchasing airsoft guns from over-sees if it ended up getting passed in California and if other states followed suit at the very worst case. If just passed in California, well you have other retailers in other states. I'm against it regardless and signed the petition. As long as I can get an airsoft gun from a Hong Kong based retailer with trades and the externals I want, that's what I would be forced to do.
