I am putting together a class on CQB and sniping tactics by US Marines who have a lot of combat experience and one of whom has a purple heart. we are looking to have 10 to 20 people for the first class. at this point we are looking for a place to host this as well as to promote it and if it goes well will be the first of many such classes. would this be something that you might be interested in?

What units were they in? What was their MOS?

I think quite a few people on here would be interested. There's been classes like this talked about before but not many if any have ever panned out. I may be depending on the cost, location and the qualifications of the individuals teaching the class.

Is it bad that I'm waiting for him to say something along the lines of "they were 0411's kinda like 03's, but with pens."?

rocker2,
I think you're going to need to provide more information on yourself as well as the individuals who would be conducting the training. We have a lot of military folks on this forum, either active or having recently gotten out, so you're probably going to find that you need to elaborate on the experience of the instructors you're advertising.

I can get their MOS's but one was a sniper, the other was a grenadier and has a purple heart. They both saw action in the stan. Cost will be $50 a person and the location that we are thinking of at this point will be in kalamazoo. if it goes well we plan to have more classes in other locations.

Was the sniper a PIG or a HOG? and if by grenadier you mean 0311 then I'd like to know what unit he was in/who he was with in Afghanistan.
Also, is this strictly for airsoft purposes? because if your "sniper" starts teaching dope and ballistic charts then he'd need to be actually registered with the NRA as an instructor. If you're attempting to teach these courses for airsoft purpose then having a strong background in our sport as well as the information already present is going to be ideal. I have no idea if the people you're attempting to sell to us are legit or not, but even if they are I can assure you that airsoft is a totally different beast than real steel, and not having a strong grasp on both will lead to a lot of information that isn't relevant.
In regards to your CQB guy, who has he trained with and what courses has he attended? I only ask because when I was with 1st Battalion 4th Marines I attended a four month long shooting package with Force Recon in VBSS (Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure) for maritime security which focused on nothing but CQB -- and honestly I don't even think that was good enough to qualify me as a subject matter expert, rather just a knowledgeable individual.
Best of luck in hopes of getting a class, I attempted to put something together not long ago but only had about eight or nine players interested and it never really gained momentum enough for me to actually put up a date/time where we'd do the class.

It'll be training in airsoft skills. no doping or ballistics or classified stuff. just camo, stalking. scouting, infil and exfil... stuff like that.

So the 0317 is a school trained guy and the 0311 was in 2/5, they relieved us in Afghanistan. What's his name? I have a lot of Corpsmen buddies that were in 2/5 on that pump.

I don't, but I have a friend that does. He was shot in the femur and he's an 0311 is all I heard. Also, there is an "edit" button if you press on the cog in the upper right hand corner of your post. This will ensure you aren't posting many times in a row, but rather just once.

Being shot in the femur sounds less than pleasurable. I can say for sure that we are thankful for his service and glad he made it home safely. By any chance at these guys planning to get into airsoft too and start coming to games?
