Was offered an Eotech replica for a 3x magnifier in a trade. (It was on /r airsoftmarket), since he had some trader flair (Thus had traded before), he asked that I shipped first. Push comes to shove, I realize I've been scammed after he deletes his account. I know where he lives, and I have an idea of what fields he may play at (He's new to whatever area he's moved to), and completely pissed off. Any advice for the situation? I've considered emailing the field owners about the situation currently, and another situation being counter scamming him.

Trades are always dicey, honestly I'm not sure there is much you can do. If you know where he lives I'd probably print out all the conversations between you two in regards to the trade, and then file a Police report. I recall a time in New York a guy tried to steal a kid's PTW at a field and the kid knew a New York Police Officer and showed up at the kid's house and put him in his place.
Most of the time it's an internet thug that thinks he can get away with it, having a vital piece of information like where he lives is ideal. If it's nearby your house, I'd probably stop on over and just ask for your part back or tell him to go get your end of the trade.
Protip: Never ship first.

PM me his user name. The mods of r/Airsoftmarket are personal friends of mine.

Get a group together. Drive to his house. If he refuses to return it and pay for gas money beat his ass.

I would try and avoid the drive down to Massachusetts. maasf.org/forum/member.php/11466-RubyxCubyxHis profile on that particular forum. Cleverly using the same name, and having a dandy thread selling my magnifier with picture! I'm thinking up a plot to get it back, but if it fails, then there's just the option of calling him out.

ok. Fly there. and if he refuses to pay your plane tickets and return the magnifier whoop his ass so his hospital bill is more than the plane tickets.

Make a lower-case 't' out of wood, put it in his yard and light it on fire. He should get the message loud and clear. 't', for 'time to give me my sh*t back.'

I'd certainly look for his WTS threads and call him out for scamming you to get the item.
Other than stalking him on the internet, your options boil down to police reports and small claims court. In all likelihood you're going to eat this one unless he panics over his internet reputation.

My stalking has gotten me (as far as I can tell), legit place of residence, and phone numbers of people I assume to be his parents.

Chances are he's a kid, call his parents and make him cry.

Believe it or not, he's 25 and joining the Rangers. I'll probably be giving his parents a call sooner or later.

Sorry to hear that man. Could have been much worse though if the only thing you're out is a 3x magnifier (unless it's for RS)
Another "Pro tip" that I always go by if I do not personally know the seller, haven't done business with them prior, or question their reputation is that I always ask for photographic evidence that they actually have the item they are claiming.
I always ask the seller/trader to provide a pic of the item with a sheet of paper with the current date, and usually with their forum handle. Of course they can still scam you if they really own it but don't want to sell/trade it, but now you have additional evidence, and if they can't provide that picture at all by providing some lame excuse like I don't have a camera, then you know not to do any business with them.
EDIT: There's also the case where scamers will assume the identity of another person from another forum or site and post pictures of an item that has the name or forum handle of the actual owner, so that's where having a current date really helps. If I see the date in the picture is extremely old then I'll ask for a new picture with the current date before doing any business as well.
