So I am planning to get into airsoft, and I want to start good. I have narrowed my gun selection down to either the G&G M4 or the Daniel Defense MFR 12". I am more of a lower paced longer sightline player, and the MFR has a longer, and preinstalled tightbore. One of the cons is it doesn't come with iron sights, but I am planning on getting a red dot anyways. It also takes M4 mags. I am kind of leaning towards the MFR but if anyone has suggestions feel free to give them, I guess that's the point of this thread I have nothing else to say.
Thanks, Carson

What type of G&G M4 are we talking about? The sport line, plastic models? Or the Pro-line models?

A CM for $250? That's one heck of a blaster to start with! My CM was $140 and still runs like a champ! I personally love the G&G Combat Machine! You can't go wrong with one, they're cheap to work on as well as easy to work on. I installed a TBB in mine and it's a champ.

If you want the most bang for your buck, buy something used. That being said you do have to be careful when buying used as with anything else. Next I would recommend figuring out which field you will play at the most and what their rules are. If they have a DMR rule, look into getting an sr-25 or something like that which will give you a bit more range.

Simply put, it's a bit advanced for a new player who probably hasn't had much experience in the field. Also you tend to not be in the heart of the action with a DMR, which is where you would run into more opportunities to learn how to effectively fight. Most people here will back me when I say get the G&G Combat Machine, metal bodied or not. They are absolute workhorses and a huge bang for your buck.

If you want the most bang for your buck, buy something used. Let's add: Buy something used from a reputable seller. I bought used and paid the price for it. The gun fired for less than 20 shots, and the guy on eBay didn't help me out at all. It took me a month to get my money back via papal. The point: If it seems like a shady deal, too good to be true or like it's a high-pressure sale, steer clear of it.

Adding my two cents on the G&G Combat Machine....
I still have my [stock] CM from the first summer they were released. Though an 8.4 battery will no longer work with her, 9.6s still rock out.
The only thing not stock in her is the hop rubber; PDI bucking.
