Honestly, the best way to get a decent LWH is to buy a real PASGT, add a pad kit, appropriate chin strap and cover to it. You can find the pads on Ebay listed as ACH or Skydex pads. The chin-strap can be found if you search for "USMC LWH Gentex Retention Helmet Chin Strap." Real PASGTs can be found on Ebay for as low as $40 if you take your time and bargain hunt. In fact, there's one priced at $45 and one priced at $55 on Ebay right now. That said, the USMC is phasing out the LWH and starting to go with the ECH, which is basically an updated ACH/MICH 2000. It's a lot easier to find nice, replica MICH helmets than it is to find decent replica PASGTs, and the replica MICH helmets generally come with decent pads. So it might be easier on the wallet to build an ECH. My LWH, built from a PASGT and the upgraded with correct pads and chin-strap.

You'd need to remove the PASGT suspension, and replace it with some of the Gentex ACH/MICH pads. The pads are sold under a variety of different names, but I've seen Gentex associated most commonly with them. The USMC LWHs might use a specific pad set from a specific manufacturer, but since the pads usually all look the same and they won't show when you have the helmet on, it shouldn't matter. The LWH uses a slightly different chin-strap system than the ACH/MICH 2000, so you'll need to find the specific USMC version. It's fairly easy to find. Just Google or Ebay for "USMC Chin-strap" or something similar and you should get a bunch of hits. Below is a good comparison between the PASGT and the LWH. One thing to note is that early LWHs had a different suspension system that didn't use pads and was fairly similar to the old PASGT. The newer LWHs use the pads just like the ACH/MICH. This link also shows the difference between the basic PASGT, the early LWH and the "upgraded" LWH with pads. oefoif.forumotion.net/t664-difference-between-lightweight-helmet-usmc-and-pasgt-helmets-all-branch
