Hello Everyone,
I'm just posting this up quick to reserve the place. I'm leaving a section for Canto (Canto, please edit my post with results for everyone and anything you'd like to say!), Badger (Tan Commander, I'll move your posted Commanders Notes / AAR into this opening post so people can read both sides commanders and the event hosts thoughts in one post at the beginning and not have to search for it.). I'm not going to post my AAR right away, other than to say I had an excellent time, and I'll be posting a nice and thorough AAR tomorrow or Monday. I just walked in the house, and now it's time to hit the shower!
Event Results & Event Host's AAR
On behalf of Hole in the Wall Paintball, Armory Airsoft, and Team FLAK I would like to thank all of the participants that traveled countless miles from far flung cities and communities across Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois for our annual scenario fall event. Since our first event in October of 2006 to our most recent scenario game, we would like to thank you for giving us the honor and the privilege of hosting everyone again this autumn for what is becoming one of Michigan’s most popular airsoft events.
After Action Report
Throughout the entire day, both teams fought ferociously for control of the lakebed and the villages. Exemplary commanding and coordination was displayed by the commanding officers of both sides. Bravo gentlemen, you all did a phenomenal job! Disseminating objectives and coordinating with thirty plus people is no easy task…
At the end of the day however, Operation: Firestorm III will be known as a minor battlefield victory for the communist troops of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the People’s Republic of China. Despite their valiant effort, the forces of the United States and the Republic of Korea have been reluctantly pushed back to secondary defensive positions.
My Personal Two Cents
What an event! Even from the prospective of a moderator (running the event) I had a great time! Thank you so much to everyone that decided to join us at Hole in the Wall Paintball for an awesome afternoon of scenario airsoft.
Despite a few of minor sportsmanship issues there were absolutely no negative issues that arose! No goggle issues, very few ‘cheating’ reports, and only a handful of boundary issues. Way to go Michigan Airsoft! Way to play with honor and integrity!
I would like to apologize for taking a moment to post my after action report for this event. Sometimes life gets in the way of being prompt with things. I have taken the time to read over what everyone else has had to say about the event. I’m truly flattered that everyone had such a great time! To be honest though, we can’t do it without you (the players and the community); without you we wouldn’t be able to host everyone for an afternoon…
Kir, Badger and prospective teams – This was by far the best commanded event I have ever seen. My hat is off to you gentleman. As a moderator I witnessed first hand amazing tactical maneuvering of your forces as well as accomplishing your tasked objectives. You guys did a bang-up job!
SABR – I’m always glad to see you guys. I really appreciate your teams willingness to lend a hand at events. I'm glad you guys had a great time, I hope to see you again next year!
Eggheads - Always good to see you guys! You're numbers and skill on the field are always appreciated and welcomed...
Dallas - Thank you so much for those cups of coffee and for the drinks! You made our morning and night! I'm so glad you decided to join us once again this year for this event!
TPot - Good times my man, good times! Don't ever be a stranger on this side of the state, you'll always be welcome out at our events! =)
Greener - Thanks for the pictures amigo! I'll try and give you a hand getting them up.

Tan Commander AAR
Thank you John for hosting another great game at Hole in the Wall. I had lots of fun and I would like to thank all the members of tan team for playing with honor. We had vary few issues with hit calling and for the most part we kept our cool. Everyone fought had to help complete the objectives and for that I thank you all.
Green team my hat's off to you for making us work for every inch of ground.
Green Commander AAR
I'll lead off with saying thank you to John for a wonderful event, and my first official Command at an event. It was a beautiful day for Airsofting, and despite the flurry of roster changes pre-game, when everyone had arrived, it looked to be a balanced game of roughly 30-35 on each side. I was very happy with everyone that I interacted with, and I cannot speak enough for the overall level of good sportsmanship and hard work put in by both sides.
@ Tan: I can explain the Deadwood incident. Objectives 2 & 10 had been flopped, and so reading objective 10, I was to take and hold deadwood, which was why there were troops there. Canto got that squad on the right track and it was radio'd in and squared away, it was not an intentional swipe from "Out of Bounds", but a mis-communication based on intel, so please don't blame the guys that were there, they were following orders. With that said, everyone that I met from the Tan side of things I have nothing but good things to say about you guys. You gave us one heck of a fight, and I look forward to playing with/against all of you again. SABR, HellJumpers, and all of the lone wolf groups that came out to this, my hats off to you guys for a great battle.
Now on to the green guys. I am doing my best to put names to all the new faces I met, so if you don't see your name below, I apologize and it's probably not that I don't remember your actions, I just can't put a name to the face.
@ Snake 6 (Blackout, Hirschbergt, AlienBones) - You all did an exceptional job. You without fail got tasked out and reassigned more than any other individuals on our side of things. Blackout did an excellent job as XO, dropping in to different locations and acting as a squad leader, running out to relay messages and re-establish comms when they went down, and helping to coordinate maintaining control of key points throughout the day.
@ Snake 1 (Skid & the rest of FLAK, and Tpot) - Excellent work out there, you guys went everywhere you were asked, and didn't hesitate when you were given a tough mission, you gave it everything you had, and for that I appreciate it. Tpot, awesome work with that KJW takedown, and Skid nice work on leading the group.
@ Snake 2 (Gunny (SK), Gimpalong (SK), Sham (TAG), Max (TAG), Red44 & Catalyst Team) - You guys did an exemplary job on the field. You had some excellent communication, and flawlessly carried out your objectives as they were handed to you. You acted in a selfless manner providing key point defensive maneuvers and holding on to the flanks of other units to ensure their missions were a success. Gunny & Sham, I know at varying points you guys took command, and sometimes broke into 2 smaller units to get things done, and you both did amazing at it, can't wait to have you guys as boots on the ground again.
@ Snake 3 (14th LID - Beau, Mike and all the rest of you guys!) - It was nice finally getting to meet the guys of the 14th LID. They came prepared, and their cohesion showed. Not only do they all have uniformity, but they also have great teamwork and the ability to get tasks done. You guys performed each and every task like professionals. The first half didn't give your unit a whole lot of action, but you took it like troopers maintaining comms and following your mission orders without deterring even when there wasn't a lot of action, and that adherence to the plan allowed a lot of other units to get their jobs done with less resistance.
@ Snake 4 (PoLW), Matic - It was definitely good to see you guys! I was expecting one person to show up, and you guys came with 5 or more, giving us a near full squad in the Snake 4 element. I didn't know any of you in the beginning, but it was certainly fun to meet all of you. For the life of me I can't remember all the call signs other than Jim, Jeb, and Alan/Alex, but I remember your actions! Like Snake 3, you guys didn't see a ton of action in the first half due to your holding maneuvers, but you guys were champs at it, and in the second half your unit got broke up a bit to assist in operations around the field, and you again performed flawlessly. I enjoyed meeting you guys and I hope to get some play time in with you all again soon.
@ Eagle 1 - Shadow, you were a solo unit for 9/10 of the day, and you did an excellent job. You encompassed the true nature of a Marksman's job on the field. Not only were you taking targets of opportunity, but you were actively providing intel on troop movements, checking in on units we lost comms with, and letting command know about anything unexpected that popped up. I know you also at one point took out either the CO or XO with a shot, so kudos on that.
@ Weasel 1 - Arch, Hoss, Lasko - You guys were tasked with a ton of running and gunning, and you were able to move quickly and efficiently across the field. You took every objective that was thrown at you and you set out to do it without question. There were several times when you'd get attached to another unit, or split up to help multiple units, and you integrated with them to perform those missions without fail every time.
Again, if there's anyone that I missed here, I do apologize, I did my best to remember your names', but rest assured when I see your faces again I'll know who you are. Thanks again to John for a great game with excellent moderation, thank you to the Tan guys for putting up one heck of a fight, and thank you to the green boys for doing your absolute best to accomplish every task I threw at you.
