I've owned two KJW G23's, and they both exhibit a pretty obvious amount of cooldown. The one I currently own is pretty bad, as it has trouble getting through an entire magazine and most of the time doesn't even lock back. The gun also physically gets very cold after only a few magazines, to the point that this happens: Now, I know the KJW G23 is a pretty popular sidearm, and a lot of people on here have or have had one. Have you had any problems with cooldown, and what did you do to fix them?

I've never, ever, ever, seen the rear freeze up entirely like that on any gun I've ever seen run propane. What...the...fuck.

And by the time the slide freezes, it's not even propelling BB's 10 feet when it shoots, the majority of the propane is shooting out of the rear of the slide onto the webbing of your hand. That's why I wear gloves when I shoot it.

Well it's not really a solution for you, but I know that people make conversions to convert magazines like KWA/KSC to run off of HPA like polar stars and it's supposed to remove the cool down effect (or at least severely lessen it). natechdev.com/?product=hpa-converted-kwaksc-atpglock-23rd-standard-magazineAre both of your guns stock? Neither had anything like Hi-Flow valves or anything installed?

I own and run a KJw G23 as well. While cooldown happens it nowhere near what you are describing. 2-3 mags in continous use would get a bit of cooldown but nothing like that. As stated above I have never seen that much cooldown.

I used to own one, and I ran 4 mags through it no problem. There has to be something else at play, I am no physicist, but I'd have to venture to guess something is up.

I'm pretty sure your just abusing the gun.... It only freezes over after several magazines have been fired in quick succession, but I'm not able to fire a full magazine and get the slide to lock back most of the time. And it's getting a full fill, too, it just sputters out with like 8 shots left.

That is really interesting. Have you tried running another person's mags through it out of curiosity? Did you buy all of the magazines at the same time/place you purchased the gun?

Well, the first one I bought I had both the stock KJW mag and a new WE G17 mag, they both exhibit it, and with this one, one mag is old and on is very new, and they both exhibit it.

Yeah that's just bizarre. I've never had that kind of issue with either of my KJW's. I only run KJW mags, but your issue seems to be going cross brand anyways. Wish I had a better answer, I've just never experienced that.

So, gassed the new magazine up today, and it shot over two magazines worth of gas with just one fill. I swear, this gun...

Just weird, maybe you just got a bad batch of gas.
