O.k, give me a little time to research because I've ony seen two gbbr that are using the gas tube system, and I saw them while in Japan. I will try to get the name for you guys so if you're interested in getting one you can.

I'm not as up on things as I used to be, but I have never heard of a GBBR having a working gas tube. There's no need for it. The force of the gas shooting out the nozzle on the front of the bolt is already propelling it back before the gas could ever route back to the chamber and assist with that.

+1 on what Thor said. I really don't think a gas tube would do anything. The barrel diameter is not tight enough to create significant back pressure to really even get gas to route back. I have seen some crazy inner barrel porting system that was somewhat experimental. It was mainly used to bleed off access gas before the muzzle to reduce turbulence on the bb as it is leaving the barrel. This idea does have some merit in my eyes, but the research on it was pretty limited.

That was what I was thinking. It seemed a little overkill plus it would require a completely new inner and outer barrel design and a new upper receiver design.

O.k. I did make a mistake. After looking into it a bit I found that the airsoft m4 i saw was a prototype, and has a non removable gas tube to the gas block, but I was informed incorrectly. It doesn't actually aid in the blowback function. My bad.

I would be interested in that as well, as I have owned several gbbr's and have never seen a functional gas tube. But if I missed some thing that is closer to a real steel rifle I would love to have one in my hands.
