New guy to airsoft but looking to relive some combat experience. I served 4 years USMC Infantry and just recently bought a M249 SAW airsoft weapon, I have my original woodland digital marpat & desert marpat plus desert marpat FROG suit. Also I have a plate carrier (coyote tan, LBT) and want to join an MILSIM unit, all I really need is a helmet, I am from the Midland-Bay City-Saginaw Area and willing to travel up to 2 hours for a team. If anyone needs a support role man let me know.

If anyone needs a support role man let me know. I just want to let you know that airsoft can be played without being on a team and we commonly recommend just going to a game to get to know some people before trying to establish or join a team. Our team isn't really based on anyone's skill level or experience and we don't do training or anything like that. It's just people that we've met and we enjoy playing with. In general, I see people have the most fun when they don't take it too seriously. That being said obviously you can do whatever you want and if you want to be a part of team, go for it. Thanks for your service. I hope you find airsoft enjoyable. Sent from my XT1080 using proboards

Did you buy your SAW new, our did you get it from someone else. I ask because they are notorious for being a hunk of junk right out of the box. After working with them, mostly all just free to cheap modifications, they are awesome. But it is a required activity, unless you buy it from someone that has already done the work. If you are lucky enough to buy a new one that actually feeds, and shoots well, it wont for long. Without adjusting the AOE of the piston to the sector gear, it will tear itself a new one over and over until you correct the AOE.
I'm not bashing your gun in any way, I'm just warning you of what to expect before you hit the field. If you put the work in, it will last a good long time, and prove very adequate for the support role. I have many thousands of rounds through mine, and it's still running strong.
All that being said, thank you for what you have done for your country, and all of us. Welcome to our airsoft community. Try to make it to a No Limits Rec game, hosted by Pagan some time. You won't be disappointed. You will meet a large part of our community, sling a lot of plastic, and have a blast. Many of their games this year have been over 100 people attending.
