"Where the heIl has Viking been? That pecker head! Gawd, he doesn’t post for a month now and he thinks he can just walce up here and post a short message without an explanation, damn that b@stard!" - Viking 'the Airsofter'
"Hey I have been slaying goblins, orcs, and other beats of Norrath, leave me alone punks!" - Viking 'the Everquest player'
Okay. This is the dillywack. A while back the forums got really slow, so I thought it would be okay to reserve a few hours of my day into playing Everquest, my favorite game of all time. Well, as some of you may know they call Evequest Evercrack for a reason. It's hella addictive. So addictive my days unfolded like so:
-Wake up around 9am -Go to work -Get home from work -Play EQ -Go to bed around 3am
I will try to hit the boards daily, but that may be pushing it.
You guys didn’t really think I was gonna leave you guys hanging on the skirmish did yous? Silly wanickers u are. I wouldn’t do that. The skirmish is still on, always has been, and will be.
Though a bit of warning. The neighbors have been having a HORRIBLE time trying to keep hunters from illegally hunting on their land. In fact I was walking the 143 acres of airsoft goodness looking for other prime spots we could have the event when I spotted dozens of hunters. I contacted my neighbors and they rounded them up with the local police. But this shows there is a risk out there.
To minimize the risk to almost 0 we are going to have the event in the same exact boundaries as last time. Being in close proximity for the houses no hunter would dare hunt in that area, and if they do I will be the first on the phone with the police.
The current list is:
1) Viking 2) Hadoken 3) Ballista 4) Newman 5) Retraw 6) Bigmack 7) Ammo990 8) Minky
I need you all to post a reply once again confirming that you will show to the event! If I do not see a reply by nov 30th I will remove yer name and if anyone wishes to come in your place they may.
>> December 1st Operation: Ironclads Location: Vikings Personal Military Simulation Battle Field (same place) Time: 9am - 5pm - Optional Dinner at Bobs Bigboy at 6pm Weather: Cold, Possibility of SNOW
We will be meeting at Arbys again, sense most of the list is already aware of where that is. And like I previously posted, directions will be mailed out the 29th.
Hadokie and Ballista am I picking you guys up again? Let me know. Via email.
<edit> BTW Unnamed: It cost me 13 bucks a month to play EQ 24/7. 3 Bucks a month for unlimited aol minutes (thank you GM!) and 10 bucks a month to play everquest. Thats a bag o bbs without shipping.

YAY! At least we know you're not dead now ;D I am still planning on attending this weekend, that is if I can find my way up there This week is gonna be killer for me stress-wise, so this skirmish will be a good way to get out my frustrations by shooting you guys! (more likely getting shot, since I'm a n00b). The weather looks like it isn't going to be too cold, with mid 40s for highs. We might have to try out our GBB's for some laughs...

Phew! Well at least we know it's still on now. But there's still the weather to worry about. I just read Dec. 1st will give us scattered showers and a temp in the low 40's.
*gulp*
Now the temperature doesn't bother me, I've been out snowboarding wearing just my snowboardy pants and a t-shirt in weather a lot worse than that. But rain + cold might effect the rest of ye. So we'll need to be ready and maybe even call Viking the day of the event to see if it's still on.
If we do decide to risk it and play anyway I'd maybe bring some dry clothes to change into. Most important though will be to dress warm!
Now get your weapons ready men. *whip*

Groovullent!
We shouldn't worry about the cold, as this is a very unusual year. We're extremely lucky to be seeing 41F as cold. I mean, this time last year we had three feet of snow!

Guys, we need to think about the rules at the upcoming skirmish. Last time, I wasn't *really* pleased with how it worked out, so here're my suggestions. 1.All body hits count, gear included 2.Gun hits don't count at all. I just don't see the point in it. If someone has a sling for their main gun and can let it dangle, then use a secondary, that would make sense. 3.Skimming bbs don't count. Happened last time to me, I called myself out, but in real life it just wouldn't happen. 4.Ricochets count. In real life, bullets "bounce" off things, so having a bb smack you anywhere would make sense. I'm in the mood to make this as realistic as possible, without sacrificing fun (eliminated if your gun is shot is not fun ). Suggestions? I'm open to criticism, since these rules, IMO, would be the best to play with.

Hadoken, you funny, funny guy. ;D
Skims counted, gun shots made your gun inoperable, I'm pretty sure that ricochets counted, too.

What do you mean by "skims"? Do you mean grazing shots? I hope not, because I can just see the problems arising from that. As a bb plunks me between the eyes - "Hey, I'm not out, that just skimmed me!" You really dont want to create circumstances (above what already exist) where a player can decide if he is out or not based on personal judgement, your just asking for a conflict there. Gun hits making your gun unoperable is usually played under LUR rules, otherwise they normally do not count. Gear hits should count. Ricochets usually do not count because if you shoot a tree or a log (or a leaf) with a real gun, the bullet most likely will not richocet, but penetrate or lodge itself. I also recommend playing by the addage "When in doubt, call out!", trust me, it will save a lot of heartache and people saying you are cheating behind your back. After organizing over 20 games this year, I have seen enough of this happen. Of course, I wont be there, so play with whatever rules you want!

I definitely see where you're coming from, Locutus, since you play with many people whenever you play. However, the last time we played (the first MiA event) there were only five guys there, and I sincerely think they were truthful in their judging of being hit. I'm not sure how what kind of class the players you Airsoft are, but I know the people I played with were very truthful.
This is the wrong kind of response for your comment, so I guess we'll just play with the skim rule that it counts if you're hit with a bb, unless it skims. There's no other way to make it easier, I agree.
