Hey guys. We can all agree there are no fields in central Michigan. I have a good friend who owns a large some of land and is actually willing to let us use it. Facebook Group: www.facebook.com/groups/564552470262686/I have done a Google earth (Beta Map) of what things look like so far. We will be making new trails and outposts that are not in this image. i.imgur.com/f9uVYt9.jpg(Edit: Even some of the actual trails are not on this beta version of the map. Reasons why this would be a awesome field is due to these..... 1. Already got camping spots 2. Large enough parking for large party's of people. 3. We have a very clean pond for people to swim in on hot days 4. Large wooded forest area 5. Close to town. 6. Open area shooting + Wooded area shooting. So, obviously this is a beta map. But, I would love to hear your feedback so we can make this as good as possible for the airsoft community. Personally, I don't like the bing map. It makes it looks like there's barren land/trees were there not suppost to be. Could be a realllllly old picture not sure. But, here it is same legends for google maps This is just the preview of the field before we do anything to it. AKA (Trim it up a bit, Make more trails, Build outposts and HQ's) Warning#1: Sorry for the nubish kids talking and bad cameramanship. Warning#2: This is a 30 min long video. Watch it when you have free time. (I didn't have time to edit it at all and wanted to give you all a good feel on it.) Youtube Link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLbggYXCFqA&feature=youtu.be

Can I get a roll call on people that would possible come that our on the outside of mount pleasant? To check and see if people would like to get a good event going. I got a guy who can make some psi mortars with whistle nerfs footballs to shoot out of it. So, that would be something nice to have. Again the map is a very early preview.

To be honest, after seeing your behavior at jackal: III I'm pretty sure that you don't have the experience to run a successful event just yet. Give it time, go to more ops and just see what it's all about. A field in Mt. Pleasant would be cool and it looks like a good bit of land. Not trying to be harsh, just trying to give some constructive criticism.

Yeah no problem. But, being a player and a host is def different. But, understandable. We fixed out more trails as well. But, this will go either way. It'll just take a month or 2 to get everything evened out and built. So, just looking to see if people would go to a mount pleasant event. Being the enter of all michigan.

I feel rather safe in assuming that jackal was your first event. And coming from someone who has organized plenty of paintball events and played plenty of airsoft events you're not ready. For one you probably wouldn't have even been allowed to play a milsim anywhere else without camo. Trust me on this. Take the time to gear up and get some more knowledge under your belt. Poorly planned and poorly ran events can quickly kill a fields reputation and make players just not want to attend at all. Mt. P is a very central location in the state. A properly ran and constructed field could potentially draw big crowds. Do yourself a favor and don't kill the opportunity before it presents itself.
The mods and everyone else here are here to help and just like with your "awesome" spy mission, you're not right on this despite what you may think zagar. That's why even a mod was giving you flak. Attend events, develop your field and after time you'll be ready to run an event. It took me years of playing paintball and months of talking to Wayne from TC Paintball (arguably the best paintball stores/fields in the state) to run a truly successful tournament. Talk to event hosts such as Canto and Mosin, just to name a couple, if you don't believe me and ask them how much time and energy goes into running a single event.

Like I said, everyone has there own opinions. I think i'll get the event running good and well. I found out what was wrong with jackal and i def do have some planning to od. But, were working hard on the property and were going to keep it going. But, hey you may be right..or you could be wrong. We have been working hard on the property for the last 2 days. I'm doing research at night. So, slippy I appreciate your criticism. But, it's going to happen and I will guarantee a great event.

didn't Puma already post about building a field in Mount Pleasant? Or are we talking about a completely different project all together?

He said the insurance couldn't go through on his part and was going with a store instead. But, everything already legit. But, yes these are different projects.

I was also confused when I saw this thread, maybe you should rename the thread so it's not confused with Puma1's recent ongoing thread. I'm also unsure of why you think you could get proper insurance coverage when Puma1's field idea had the backing of the owner of a local Army/Navy Surplus store and land owner.
You may want to look into Bing Maps if your going to use a mainstream map source. I think it was Tank who recommended it to me if I remember correctly; but Bing seems to have higher resolution imagery for the less inhabited parts of Central-Northern Michigan.

It will really depend on wht agent he has, and which insurance agency he went through. my uncles guy wanted 600$ a game, which would almost always lead to a negative profit. I really wish he can get the field up and running and i'll assist in any way I can. Zagar, if you want ties to a local airsoft dealer, let me know.

Having hosted a few games and heavily looked into a field I just figured I'd put in my 2 cents. I'm happy that someone else wants to start a field in Mt. Pleasant. That being said, I didn't attempt to even host a game until I had played for 2 and a half years. Hosting and managing a game is not for the faint of heart, but if you want to give it a go I say go ahead. You'll never know what it's like until you've experienced it. I do recommend that you attend some of the more complex and higher quality Scenario or MilSim games down south. I'm going to refer you to the same insurance carrier that I looked into and suggested to Puma1 as the price they quoted me was fairly reasonable. That link is Here. It is also a good idea to make sure any neighbors know what's going to be happening with/on the property. Airsoft fields must work with the surrounding community to ensure good working relations. The most important thing to remember is that no matter what the interaction is when you are setting up/running the field, you are going to be representative of the airsoft community and whatever you do, good or bad, will reflect on us all.

Might be a good idea to include a few other details like:
What do you think is the capacity of the field? Will you have insurance (as was mentioned)? How much will games cost and where will the funds go? Will you be following MIA regulations? Will you have a chrono?
And I'm sure there are other questions out there.

Thanks for the feed back guys I appriciate it. I will be paying 1,200 - 1,400 a year for my airsoft insurence with a coverage to 1,000 players. So, I can't go over. So, depending on how the big events work and how many do show up. I will have ot adjust to pay more if more people do see to go to these events.
Yeah puma for sure. Hell, if people need to get some stuff for the event like actual glasses to keep them safe i'll be like just head to this airsoft shop I have nothing else to say. But, i def hope we get a nice community going. I got so many cmu students who wanna play when they come back up. Also, we got a few marines that wanna play as well.
For the person who asked were the money would be going. It would be going to these areas. 1. Paying owner for land fee to use it. 2. Getting the field to even a better state. (Field Bank) 3. Buying things for raffles (I already have a raffle license.) 4. To buy extra kill rags and very little things that when new local players come around. They understand they need these items.
What do you think is the capacity of the field? 250-300 people Max. (comfortable room and such) Will you have insurance (as was mentioned)? Yes. How much will games cost and where will the funds go? The first game is going to be free. (We wanna get feed back before we even start to ask people to pay. We want to get this field in tip top shape.) Will you be following MIA regulations? Yes. Will you have a chrono? Yes.
(How old are bings maps?)

I don't like the bing map. It kinda makes it look way different then the land really is.

Today me and my friend steve will be taking the golf cart around and doing some video recording of the place. Stoping and talking about what we want to do to the area. (The structers will be all log based (Using the trees and such) To make it so during hunting season deer don't see a drastic change. But, this video will be about the land so far.
