I will put it this way, IF you build a DMR or other high powered weapon with a DG, you are WASTING it. They way you change the FPS on a DG is buy cutting down the buffer tube spring (it takes RS buffer tube springs) and adjusting the PSI accordingly. It take a certain amount of PSI to fully cycle the bolt, unlike P* that can run at a wide range of PSI's and nozzles. Theoretically you could have the same system run 400 FPS and 550 FPS, however you wouldn't be able to disable full-auto. If you have to worry about cost, HPA is not the platform for you. I think your misguided Wraith. DG's are about FA and recoil, I have a feeling you will be disappointed trying to build a marksman rifle out of it. I really don't like P*. Just too many bad experiences with players who use them. I've never heard of any bad experiences, they are GREAT platforms, and they have awesome customer service. Any bad experiences would be user related, as most people are idiots.

Exactly, the p* users are the ones to blame. As a system they are excellent. Easy maintenance, easily adjustsble, very consistent and ungodly reliable.

Daytonas are all about the steel internals and the rock and rock on full-auto.
Look, Wraith, if you're set on getting a Daytona Gun then more power to you. I'd love a DG myself, but I also love my Polarstar.
You've got to take both platforms and try to do a compare and contrast weighing the pros and cons of each.
They are both high-end HPA platforms. So if you buy one you're not going to be disappointed either way.

Essentially it would be a very expensive paperweight if you can't lock out FA. If you're ever curious and want to try a p* while we're at the same event you'd be more than welcome to shoot mine a little. It's a vfc 416d.

Slippy I appreciate the offer, but it's AEG or DG. I've fired a P* and yes they are excellent systems. But I simply don't want one. As I have said I really enjoy working on my replica's as I do my real steel and because a P* is so simple it pretty much eliminates the tech work part of airsoft.
I have a bolt action that flirts with the 550fps limit. I know MiA's rules very well. I wouldn't have asked about the capability if I didn't believe that FA could be reversibly disabled. Even if I can't figure out a way to make it a long range rifle and disable the FA in a way that is reversible, I will gladly use it as a standard rifle.
Thank you everyone for the input, It has cemented my decision in getting a DG. I will be getting one when the opportunity presents itself.

DG's are sick man. It really is an awesome choice any way you look at it. But P*'s are fun to tech. I've got mine running a black nozzle (should push 475fps or more) down to 355fps @58 psi. That took a lot of time and messing around. But anyways be sure to post a video after you have it. I think everyone enjoys DG's.

I definitely will post up some pictures and video when I get it, it may be a bit though and until I can afford some new parts for it it'll look like any other G&P WOC + an air line.

Just remember it's like $150 I think to get installed, I WOULD NOT INSTALL IT YOURSELF.
Just buy a WOC Challenge kit from Evike, thats the cheapest route for a new platform (plus you get to build it) or find someone selling a broken WOC (you dont need the internals or mag).
