(FYI: I have horrible writting skills Papa Smurf here. This was my first airsoft event I went to. I went along with the Immortals through car pool and met up with some pretty awesome guys. The first 3 hours(?) Was really fun some of the tan and green players were dicks but, I was assured you would find this at most airsoft fields. After the first 3 hours we took a hour break due to one of the players having sever dehydration and had to be taken by the ambulance. (Prayers go out that he is doing good) After the hour break. I remembered I brought a green bandana. So, I talked to my Group commander (highlander) and tan commander. I was in civi clothes since I did not own a set of tan or green camo But, I would tie the green bandana to my left arm. The game horn sounded. Being fat and tired already I ran to the left side going through the thicker part of the forest to try and pretend like I was with green. I saw the green members moving up. I only saw 5. But, they asked if I was green. I raised my left arm not saying anything just to show my green bandana on my arm. (I hear one of the green members yell "friendly") So, I got 5 of them around me and to look like I was really with them I shot in the direction of tan but, shot at the tree not to far away to make sure I didn't hit any of my real team. I had 2 snipers to my right. and 3 to my 11. I took a breath looked at the snipers and said "bang bang, bang bang" (I hear some talking from them but, wasn't really paying attention) I then turn at the 3 infront and knock them off. they yell "Hey, were green!" I replied with and ya I'm tan. I thought I cleared it as I start walking back to wear our tan members are, as I move up a little bit, I see 3 more in the trees. I kneel and take 3 or so shots at all of them taking them down as well. Which got me a 8 kill Streak and decided to give it some time before I went with my spy work again. 30 Mins later it was for round 2. I went into some thick brush and moved close to 3 other green members. I yelled "What color?!" They replied with green and I said, "Alright good" I got close asking them what there situation was. They were headed towards out main drop off point. I said, alright well I'm going to go take a flank. After they moved to about 30 feet. I took a shot at each and they were out. My streak is now up to 11. I move back to tans HQ. I hear green has ran over our drop off point. So, time to go ninja spy. I get into some really thick trees moving towards the left of our base. I let my guard down with me carrying it by the rail in my left hand and a water bottle in my right. I see 1 green on the left of this trail and 2 on the right. I yell to the green guy if he gots any extra water. He says he does so I walk up to him casually and lay my gun down some what close to him. and ask him what do we got going on. He says theres a group in the bush about 40 feet away to his 10. So, I laugh and say "Well fuck, alright let me see what I can do" I start heading up to our drop off point were I can see at least 7 green guys around. As I'm walking I hear one of them say "Are you dead?" (Now to me I'm thinking they know I'm the spy who got the guys before. OR they can just be checking to see if they can get 1 more guy) But, I take a drink of water and walk towards them to buy a little bit of time and then say "What did you guys say?" Right when they started to ask again I got my signs on them and quicklly went "Bang, bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. After my fourth double bang I was shot full auto within the 15 feet mark by one of them. (This is were the event turned sour) The guy who hosted this game was the sons of the property owner, also was the commander for green. He said you bang bang that far away. You had to be arms length away to do that. I called bullshit as I'm unable to shoot within the 20 feet range. (Yet I was about 15-17 feet away) (It's me being nice and saying I don't want to shoot you guys just get out So, I dont have to hurt you. A few of them were pretty sleevless. ) So, I said, fine I'll just find one of the hosts Cuz, I know at the balcony when we had breifing that was not listed as a rule at all. He said, he was the main host and he will remember to say that rule at the balcony next time that have a game. Now, that pissed be off to were I decided to stop playing for the fact if a host can't follow the own damn rules of his own event. Then whats the point of players? Didn't even offer a parlay. I clearly said I got 4 out with the bang bang rule that i talked about on the facebook event before I was shot within the 20foot range full auto with a gun over 351fps. (Was about 4-5 shots) So, I'm assuming one out of the three are the reason he decided to do this. 1. He was the head commander needing to sit out for 30 mins. 2. He knew I was wrecking his team doing spy work. 3. He is just a dick who thinks rules don't apply to him as he's the land owners son. (Btw the land owners were really awesome besides there son) For my first airsoft game outside of the backyard. The first 3 hours before our 1 hour break. Was fun. the first 1-1.5 of the second part was awesome till that happened. Due to the fact that the host cannot follow his own rules or at least come up with some kind of compensation for what happened. So, with this I will not become back to that field as both teams had problems and the event was not properly set up and rumors of ways to get more of there painted stick o the drop off point made a very unfair advantage/disadvantage. Overall Papa Smurf The Ninja Spy Rates this field a 2/5. (Would of been a good 4/5 if that event did not come to happen) (I also took a 2.5 hour trip to get there. But, I did meet some awesome people on both teams and enjoyed talking with them and learning more on airsoft.)

The bang rule, there was some confusion, I assumed you had a Stock G&G (what you had from when I saw you) which run about 340 FPS, and you had the White tag on your gun, which ment arms length, that's the reason why most of us disputed your bang because at the arms length engagement distance there is usually no bangs. Deputy (who was the co host) and I also shut down that CP that people weren't calling bang hits in to get rid of disputes with that, so thats when we did away with bangs, that is our fault, we didn't announce it after the first break due to that one player (He is fine by the way, came back from the hospital and wanted to play again) Anyways, sorry that went sour after that but I'm glad you enjoyed the game, you tan guys gave us a run for our money, as of right now we are pretty even on bricks. We switched to a CP capture game along with running the bricks for the night game and we had some pretty good engagements with that. Mostly lead to green ambushing green on accident but that was funny after the bb's stopped flying. Anyways, there is about 45-ish people still here out of the 60 or 70 that showed at the bonfire right now, I, gonna get out there for a little bit then turn in. I got my girlfriends baby shower tomorrow, so I need to get some shut eye. If you have any other complaints, comments, concerns or anything that you wanna talk to me personally about, feel free to PM me or something.

I'm glade the guy came back and wanted to keep playing. Thats def awesome. Hope you guys get some good game footage. let me know were the pictures are being uploaded from the camera guy that was there.

To be fair, it's rough to say the event wasn't properly set up. Sure, this was a new game type for everyone there.. but the problem became with people not able to follow simple directions and trying to cheat the system anyway they could. This in my opinion, makes games not fun at all.

Just for future references, switching from team to team like that and being s spy, generally isn't allowed. I would have said something about it but I didn't know what you were doing, this is a sport based on integrity and trust. If you can't play with those two basic concepts, people get mad and they don't have a good time. I was talking with people. Players on both teams were complaining about that. Don't do that at the next event you go to. Im sure the mod's on this forum will tell you the same thing. You don't do that unless the gametype calls for it. Even then, thats closely monitored. But no hard feelings, I know how it is to go from backyard into an actual game.

(i never switched. I never went through the green starting area. I made my way through acting as a green player by just talking to them. I never told anyone "Yes, I'm green" I just yelled out like "Green?" then just replied with a soothing response of oh awesome. A lot of green people came up to me afterwords and thought it was really awesome how it played out.

First of all, congratulations on getting out to your first event! The airsoft scene in Michigan is awesome and growing! Also, welcome to MiA! I think you'll find that this community has a ton of info for you to big into! I did see you at the game and thought you did a great job running all over the place. That said, I'm just going to respond to some of the things you've written in your post. Please take these comments as constructive criticism. I raised my left arm not saying anything just to show my green bandana on my arm... I think it's commendable that you're trying to be clever, but there is a fine line between being clever and being unsportsmanlike. Firsly, you're already wearing an ambiguous uniform. From the very get go it was difficult to tell if you were on the green team or the tan team. Secondly, the green team also had civilian players. These green civilians had both sides of their arms banded with blue tape to indicate that they were on the green team. This issue made it even more difficult to figure out which civilians were on which team. While your tactic was basically within the general rules of the game, it was also pretty lame and, in my mind, unsportsmanlike. ...Right when they started to ask again I got my signs on them and quicklly went "Bang, bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. After my fourth double bang I was shot full auto within the 15 feet mark by one of them... This is exactly the sort of abuse of the "bang kill" rule that causes problems at almost every event. Look, a "bang kill" is meant to eliminate another player who you've clearly got the drop on. This means that you have them in your sights and will almost certainly be able to hit them should they refuse to surrender. This means that you're close enough to guarantee that you can hit your target. You might be able to "bang kill" one person since you can actually point your rifle at one person, but you can't "bang kill" a group. A lot of fields have a 3-second "bang kill" rule that basically says that you must wait at least 3 seconds between "bang kills." This rule is designed to prevent the totally mess that a person creates when they try to "bang kill" an entire squad. Running into a group of people and wildly swinging your gun around yelling "bang!" is NOT the correct way to "bang kill" someone. Just because you yelled "bang" near a group of players doesn't mean they are automatically eliminated. When you say "bang" you're essentially substituting the word "bang" for the REQUEST statement "surrender." A "bang kill" is not a given; the player being "bang killed" has to basically say "yeah, you've got me dead to rights. I surrender." The fact that you ran into a group of people, yelled "bang bang!" and then got lit up indicates to me that you didn't have the drop on those people. The guy who hosted this game was the sons of the property owner, also was the commander for green. He said you bang bang that far away. You had to be arms length away to do that. I called bullshit as I'm unable to shoot within the 20 feet range... Again, a "bang kill" is basically asking for a surrender to save someone the pain of being shot from close up. If you're 20 or 30 feet away, there's no real guarantee that you can actually hit your target. That's why it's best to just shoot the individual in a padded part of their body. If you have a 20 foot Minimum Engagement Limit (MED) you CANNOT engage targets inside 20 feet. That means that while you may approach someone and ask them to surrender ("bang!"), if they refuse and turn to shoot at you, you MAY NOT shoot back unless you move outside your MED. For my first airsoft game outside of the backyard... The "bang kill" issue is always pretty contentious, and so it might behoove you to play a few games and watch how other people do it before trying it out yourself. Again, this is an issue that almost always causes some sort of problem at events. On many fields, "bang kills" are just totally thrown out and you're actually encouraged to just shoot the person in a padded spot rather than try to "bang kill" them. (I also took a 2.5 hour trip to get there... This is basically irrelevant to the game. Yeah, it was far away for you. For some people it was just down the road. You chose to come out and play. The event host isn't going to up and move their entire field just to make you happy. Sorry that the drive was long, but you surely knew how far the drive was before you decided to come and you decided to come anyway. edit: edited to be less of a jerk.

Well now that's out of the way, how did you like the game Gimp? Thanks for bringing the Chrono right too. Not sure if I told you that already. It was fun rolling with you like always.

But, opinions are for everyone.) ...Right when they started to ask again I got my signs on them and quicklly went "Bang, bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. Bang, Bang. That means that you may approach someone and ask them to surrender ("bang!"), but if they refuse and turn to shoot at you, you MAY NOT shoot back unless you move outside your MED. (Then the MED/Bang needs to be adjusted. For the fact if I cannot shoot them in the 20 feet mark and they turn around and im point blank. I'm sorry I Don't have layout like you guys. But, I guess in that situation I would hit him over the head with the butt of the gun) For my first airsoft game outside of the backyard... This indicates to me that you have very little experience with mainstream airsoft. It's hard for me to take a lot of what you're saying seriously since you've never actually played in a regular event and seen the way that "bang kills" are typically carried out. The "bang kill" issue is always pretty contentious, and so it might behoove you to actually play a few games and watch how other people do it before you run wildly into a group yelling "bang bang bang!" expecting to get kills. Overall Papa Smurf The Ninja Spy Rates this field a 2/5. (Would of been a good 4/5 if that event did not come to happen)... I'll grant that you're entitled to you opinion, but since you've never actually played a regular game before it might be a bit premature for you to be rating games. (Rating the game on the base of youtube videos that I have been watching extensively which may deep no experience. But, I can def feel the enjoyment in the video with good games. (I also took a 2.5 hour trip to get there... This is basically irrelevant to the game. Yeah, it was far away for you. For some people it was just down the road. You chose to come out and play. The event host isn't going to up and move their entire field just to make you happy. Sorry. (Wasn't asking for the host to move anything about. Just saying 2.5 hours to go to an event that seemed pretty legit that didn't turn out to be the way it seemed to be. But, shit happens.)

Zagar230,
Sorry, you responded while I was editing my post to be less of a dick.
I'm not trying to be an ass, just trying to point out what having played for years and years has taught me.
Anyway, hope to see you out there or around the state in the future.

May be what it may be. But, honestly if things were the other way around. I would of had a lot more fun. Actually trying to find the spy would be my main objective. Just to be like. "Woot got the bitch back" But, everyone has there opinion. I'm Surprised the 3 of you are so against it when i stated before with the guys that I first got out thought it was awesome. We even had pizza with the 2 snipers after we left at 6. I think you were there gimp.
Also, hope to see ya around the state as well. Seemed like you had a good personality.

Going over video from the event because I can't sleep. Got some wicked "Behind Enemy lines" footage.

I'm sorry for my two outbursts but. It was made clear if the weather changed or some serious matter happened I was to stop the game. I was not given a walkie I think tan leader found me and told me to stop the match. I think I walked passed Oswald like 2 times before I stopped the match. He should have let me know to stop the match but he did not seem to worried which made me upset the first time. Second time he came over and started talking to like everything was cool which it wasn't. Also I will not be associating my self with this field anymore I like the map but my time could have been better spent. Sorry Dakota. And Oswald if you read this it is in your best intrest to stay out of my way.

So, I was kinda hoping that his event wouldn't be like Coldhammer, and well here is the difference:
Coldhammer: 1. foot or so of snow 2. everyone crying and bitching about everything 3. safezone didn't feel all that safe.. with a sniper rifle pointed at you. 4. ticks 5. Ok, game-play was somewhat organized as we always had something to shoot at most of the game. 6. Pizza from NoLimits was as good as ever.
Jackal III: 1. field seemed very good overall, tons of brush to hide in made it super hard to move up into positions without a huge force backing you up (which is ok)
2. chrono was actually available this time and the game was well prepared for, (aka air horns, speakers and microphone, and somewhat of a staff presence)
3. safezone still didn't feel all that safe.. dry firing and stupid little highschool girl drama. a. It only takes drama from one person to make a field not playable from my experience of multiple fields.
4. we were totally outnumbered by the end of the game by like 40 to 16 or so.. which made it literally impossible to take points beyond that. Though we also had tons too shoot at cause we were HQ camped 80% of the time.
5. Ok the emergency call was properly done well, which was impressive to say the least, calling everyone back to safe zone and making sure everyone else was ok (hoping the guy who passed out is ok).
6. Comms.. WTF?! WHAT FRACKING COMMS? WE HAVE NO COMMS?! (except immortal.. we were bad ass on comms).
7. Emo chicks and porn.. good for the bedroom, not for general discussion on comms. though freaken hilarious to listen to..
8. Pizza from NoLimits was as good as ever.
9. The bricks idea was neat, but way too tedious to keep us collecting, perhaps changing that to a currency for an airdrop or some sort? All of us gave up collecting them cause we wanted to shoot something.
overall I was entertained by the event but its still not as good as it could be.

Pretty much everything comax stated. Also something to add for next time; don't just make your friends commander of respective sides just because you're their friends. Open it up to other people maybe respected members of Mia? The camo: What a cluster fuck. More defined camo regs would e great to see (I.E guys not running around in M81 trousers and acu combat shirts which were opposing colors ) Also make civilians join one side. It was ridiculious how many were split between the two sides but it was damn near impossible to distinguish who was who. Overall not terrible but room for improvement. Good job. Good job green team on the win.
