Thanks for clearing that up for me, I still think it is better to balance charge them. Just to clear this up, when charging through the main lead the balance connector is also connected to the charger. Most of the current is pumped through the main plug while the charge plug monitors the cells voltages and adds little bits of current to balance the cells. The result is a charger that can charge your battery extremely fast but remain accurate. Some big RC lipos can be charged at 5C or even more, meaning 25amps if it is a 5000mah battery. You could never charge at that current through a jst. Also airsoft guns never exceed 60 amps continous under normal conditions, and most never even hit that in a burst. Most knowledgeable techs realize that there are better ones out there but deans are standard and meet all of the needs of airsofters. You won't see a perfermance gain by switching to xt60 or ec3 connectors.

I know there is no preference gains but I dont like how deans loosen up and start slipping apart after a hundred or so uses., that is why I like the ECS, they click together and make a great connection.

I've never had that problem with Deans and I have 10+ year old RC batteries that have had hundreds of charges. The batteries usually go bad before I've ever seen connector loosen up. What can cause that is overheating the connector when you solder it together. Once the connector becomes malformed anything can happen.
