This was a great store! Both price-wise, and location-wise.
It's right off S. Division, on the left one or two blocks down if you're coming from 28th.
Originally, I had planned a separate airsoft shopping trip there while we came down from way up north, and our family wasn't willing to go the extra 30 or so miles to Kalamazoo.
But we drove past Young's accidentally, and I decided to check it out for a few minutes.
Needless to say I ended up spending an hour and dropped about 96 dollars on top-notch merchandise!
Their gun inventory consisted of mainly gas rifles and pistols, with some aegs (I could only tell by the price. If it was under 200, it was most likely electric.) Plus, they sported a TON of accessories and upgradeables for both airsoft and paintball alike.
Their clothing and gear section is what blew me away. There was so much to choose from, which explains the full hour I spent there. Regrettably, I brought my younger brothers and aunt inside, and my brothers kept on begging me that they would pay me back if they spent some of my money. Yeah right I would've spent the rest of the day there had we not needed to be somewhere later that evening. (It was straight shot to downtown, but we had to take a cruise through the ghetto first.)
As for the store owners, they were exceptionally helpful. The younger one answered all of my questions, and it was apparent he knew the sport VERY well. I told him that from where we were there wasn't too much opportunity for the sport, and he started explaining to my brothers and I where the best events and fields were and about how many people would show up. It's that kind of willingness to offer advice to up and coming players like myself that made the store even better.
The other gentleman (I'm guessing his father or uncle) did answer one of my questions (sort of ) He didn't know English too well, but his eagerness to help me showed that he was dedicated to assisting customers in any way he could.
In summary, this store instantly made my Michigan top ten.
I'll be transferring to Grand Valley next fall, and I'm eager to buy from them again in the near future!
