I'm in the market for a FAST style helmet. My head is about 61cm round. I was thinking about getting an EMERSON from shootercbgears website. But I want to know my options. I'd like other suggestions.

I wouldn't order anything from shooter combat gear! I had a horrible experience with them. I ordered about 20 items and at checkout $0.00 was listed next to shipping. Thought maybe my order qualified me for free shipping. They emailed me two days later to say we need $120.00 more to cover shipping but they would drop that to $50 because of out of stock items. Paid and they said it was shipped..... then I got another email saying they need $50 more because they forgot they needed two packages to send all my items. I told em forget it, to just refund me for what wasn't shipped. It took two weeks of constant emails "where is my refund?". But once again they forgot an item in the refund!!!! I had to hound them again for 5 days. Terrible customer service and absent mindedness. Just plain bad business.
And one of the items that was out of stock was an Emerson FAST Helmet. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and shop somewhere else.
I found my FAST at Dragon Red Airsoft. Excellent quality replica. I am very happy with it and fast shipping.

Thanks! Yeah I have never ordered from shootercbgear so I didn't know what to expect. But I like the looks of the red dragon helmets. I think I will pick up a premium version replica.

I can personally vouch for the Dragon Red helmets being very nice quality. I own the ballistic version so here is my take on it. It is a thick fiberglass shell that weighs a couple pounds. It has a nice finish that isn't reflective and is texturized. The coloration is a bit inconsistant from batch to batch though. One of my team mates bought a premium and ours are different tones of tan (shell, NVG shroud, and arc rails). The pads have a memory foam type material which is comfortable, but I have heard of them ripping. Now on to the cheap version. It is a decent helmet for the money. They NVG shroud is plastic and the whole helmet is a smooth surface. The batch my team got looked flesh colored and were shiny so they needed to be painted right away. One of their NVG shrouds cracked when they dropped the helmet and another broke the liner dial. This could be user error but just keep the issues in mind.

What is the difference between ballistic style and carbon style?

The carbon has holes on the top, similar to the base jump, while the ballistic doesn't. The holes are nice in the summer as they act as ventilation but the ballistic is more versatile impression wise. When it comes down to it, it's personal preference.

So as far as the materials and weight every thing is the same... just the holes are the difference?

The carbon may be slightly lighter since there are holes, which means less material used. I don't think there will be a major difference in weight, but I can't verify as I haven't seen the premium version of the carbon. I know the basic version of the carbon is just about the weight as the basic version of the ballistic though.
